[Hoshimi Miyabi cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: Executing Missions in New Eridu

The Hoshimi Miyabi Cosplay photoshoot taken at Juejue Studio is finally finished. The set design had immense depth—especially the pixel art glowing on retro arcade monitors and the tangled mess of black cables in the background, which perfectly captured New Eridu's cyberpunk atmosphere and made slipping into character effortless.
Regarding the outfit, Miyabi's design is packed with intricate details. The high-saturation blue coat uses structured, crisp fabric, layered over a white dress shirt, black necktie, and a tailored black pleated skirt—delivering not only sleek sharpness but also the dramatic visual flair typical of 2D combat attire. The sleek black straight wig and the enormous black beast ears serve as the soul of this styling; after meticulous grooming, the overall accuracy was immensely satisfying. The complex mechanical armguard was a true heavyweight prop; although it felt heavy to wield and the coiled straps pressed tightly against my wrists, this authentic physical weight grounded my movements with steady, formidable power when raising the blade.
During the shoot, photographer Uncle Yuki made extensive use of low-angle upward framing to capture the character's fierce edge. This camera placement works wonders for flattering leg lines; combined with the billowing skirt, it dramatically amplifies both visual tension and dynamic motion. For instance, in Photo 4, this low angle not only captures my booted legs flawlessly but also aligns seamlessly with the orientation of the katana blade. Beyond static standing poses, we explored more dynamic actions—such as mid-air spin maneuvers or low-stance crouching charges—demanding constant adjustments to my grip strength and footwork stability so the camera could seize the sharpest, cleanest strike. During one dynamic freeze-frame attempt, I crouched and stood up nearly ten times before finding an angle that kept my face unobstructed while aligning the blade and lens in sharp perspective. Since the character leans towards decisive sharpness, I avoided overly flashy poses, keeping the focus entirely on a piercing gaze and the grounded authority of holding the blade.
To achieve optimal lighting, communication throughout the shoot was constant. The crew repeatedly fine-tuned the color temperature so screen reflections grazed the blade's edge into a crisp rim light, while preserving shadows across my face to heighten the character's chilly austerity. The color scheme was equally clever: the blue-and-yellow accents popped vividly against the subdued, dark backdrop. Though the shoot demanded endless micro-corrections—ensuring the blade pointed sharply at the lens or sculpting the flare of the skirt during lateral turns—these nuanced adjustments directly dictated the emotional weight of the final Anime-style photography.
Among this set, Photo 4 remains my favorite. That low-angle shot elongates the legs, and the billowing skirt perfectly counterbalances the upward weight of the katana, establishing an exceptionally poised equilibrium. Paired with the industrial mesh in the background, the cool-toned lighting adds a crisp, formidable aura. Within this maze of electronic screens and exposed piping, retro-tech grit collided brilliantly with the character's modern, icy glamour. Bringing a 2D persona to life goes far beyond simply donning a wig and costume; it demands deep environmental integration, lighting synergy, and deliberate body language. I am genuinely thrilled with this collaborative work, which completely fulfilled every expectation.
