Putting on this blue-and-white swimsuit, it feels like Mondstadt's summer sea breeze instantly blew into the exhibition hall. This time, I tried to recreate the Barbara swimsuit look, from the details of the hair accessories to the small stars on the collar, and this playful little yellow duck at the waist, all striving to match the character's lively nature. As an idol, I hope to bring a healing feel to everyone even on the beach.
Stepping barefoot on the white plush carpet fits the seaside theme perfectly. During the shoot, I tried several sets of poses from different perspectives, like standing on one leg in the picture and sitting on a black bench, hoping to showcase a playful side of Barbara that differs from her church persona. This time, I also paired it with clear material high heels to match the waterside atmosphere.
The lighting on-site was mainly top and side lighting; for this kind of bright-colored clothing, the use of a reflector is very important. The makeup specially emphasized a translucent feel, combined with blue colored contacts to highlight the character's innocent temperament. This sailor-style two-piece swimsuit features light lace ruffles on the outer layer and a detached design for the sleeves, allowing them to flutter into beautiful arcs during large movements.
Actually, the hardest part of Genshin Impact cosplay often lies in the facial expressions and demeanor. After all, Barbara is that kind of gentle yet determined girl, so eye control requires more thought than movement details. Although recreating a beach scene inside an indoor exhibition hall has some limitations, through the combination of the carpet and props, it can be considered a complete character presentation. I'm very happy to bring a summer-vibe-filled character interpretation in this way.
