[Lin Yuxia cosplay] Arknights: Descent of the Snowy Mountain 1101 Photoshoot Record

This photoshoot was dedicated to the Descent of the Snowy Mountain 1101 theme for Lin Yuxia cosplay from Arknights, specially organized to celebrate her birthday. For makeup and styling, gradient pink-purple long hair was paired with fluffy animal ears, accented by floral and pearl ornaments on top. Red-toned eye makeup was chosen to fit the character lore, creating a gentle yet mysterious ambiance in this Kemonomimi cosplay. The costume was an Ancient style cosplay modified dress in blue and white: the upper body featured a white cross-collar with blue piping, while the lower body flowed into a dark blue patterned translucent gauze skirt that radiated a graceful sheen as light passed through. The hand-held prop was a semi-translucent ice-blue ritual talisman wand, intricately carved with cloud and ruyi motifs.

The studio was decorated with rich Chinese classical elements, featuring dark wood folding screens, armchair seats, and wooden tables, draped with hanging wisteria flowers alongside crane props, and finished with mirror-reflective flooring. The lighting setup utilized a collision of warm and cool tones: warm yellow lantern glow on the left and cool blue key light on the right, which, reflected on the floor, cultivated a serene, deep, and mystical sanctuary. The shoot was divided mainly into close-ups and full-body compositions. Close-up portraits demanded precise control of facial expressions and eye lines to convey a focused, penetrating gaze; full-body shots required adjusting seated poses so the skirt cascaded naturally without blocking light sources. The most time-consuming part of the shoot was fine-tuning the angles of the wig and Kemonomimi cosplay ears to avoid exposing support structures, as well as smoothing out every fold in the fabric. The sheer gauze draped beautifully while moving, creating flowing lines, but required immense patience to arrange. The ice-blue wand, while striking, tested arm stamina when held steadily across prolonged posing sessions. Cool-toned lighting can easily make skin tones appear pale or greenish, so post-processing heavily refined skin translucency while enhancing the blue patterns on the dress and the surrounding wisteria hues, making the contrast between warm and cool tones crisper. Fitting this birthday theme, the overall palette was calibrated to be deep and atmospheric, striving to embody the character's unique blend of cool nobility and restrained gentleness through this Xianxia ancient aesthetic. Every refined photoshoot demands extensive preparation and on-set synergy—though demanding, it was deeply enjoyable. I am very pleased with the overall texture, especially the subtle backlighting and skirt reflections that highlighted the essence of the costume design, making it a wonderful creative experience.
