For this night photoshoot of Saber (Altria Pendragon), I chose a steel truss bridge in Shanghai, with the Oriental Pearl Tower visible in the background. The pure white strapless dress paired with a blue bow, and the prop sword with the Excalibur engraving, makes the classic look very textured under the intertwined cold and warm lights of the night street lamps and the background. To capture the fluidity of the skirt, I walked back and forth on the bridge several times for candid shots. The wind made the skirt rise naturally, and combined with the single-handed lifted pose, it perfectly restored the Knight King's elegant yet determined aura. The iconic ahoge on the top of the head was individually fixed to the wig, and I checked the angle several times before shooting to prevent it from collapsing. Focusing and exposure needed repeated adjustments in the night environment, but the metal structure of the bridge also enhanced the industrial and stage-like feel of the frame. This was a tribute to a classic character and a record of the night I spent with this city.
