This Zenless Zone Zero Dialyn outfit is truly super photogenic. The black-and-white color-blocked double buns, along with the large side braid, create a very layered visual effect. To achieve high Character accuracy and restore the character's playful yet slightly contrasting cute temperament, I specifically emphasized the under-eye blush and brown-gold contact lenses in my makeup. The choice of contact lenses is actually crucial; they need to blend well with the overall cool white skin tone and the distinctly black-and-white hair color to avoid looking out of place.
For this shoot, I would like to thank the photographer @Yayuan-cosplay edition for their patient guidance. During the shooting process, we specially prepared some small props to enrich the frame, such as that glowing light bulb. Not only is it a very interesting prop embellishment in the character setting, but it can also become a great visual focus when lit against a solid color background. The details of the costume are also highly exquisite. The black-and-gold stand collar paired with the small panda face decoration on the chest, as well as the Chinese knot-style red frog buttons, make this combination of Chinese-style and modern elements in this Anime-style outfit highly recognizable. The white plush balls on the sleeves and the half-finger gloves on the hands preserve a cool, combat-ready style while adding cuteness.
Although this costume has some restrictions on physical movements—for example, the spliced design of the shoulders required me to adjust my angles when doing arm-raising motions—it was all worth it to capture the character's quirky and slightly lazy vibe. During the shoot, I deliberately experimented with a few different emotional states. There are moments of focusing on posing with props, as well as moments imitating the bored, relaxed feel of making a phone call in daily life. I hoped to showcase the character's casual coolness and slice-of-life feel from the game.
In post-processing, we did not over-retouch, preserving the natural texture of the skin. We focused more on adjusting the relationship between the hair color and the gray-white base color of the background to make the primary color combinations of black, white, red, and gold look more vibrant and crisp. This modern character design with certain Chinese-style elements actually strongly tests a cosplayer's control over materials and hairstyles. Keeping the high ponytail and buns both fluffy and secure truly cost a lot of hairpins. I hope this set of photos allows everyone to see my understanding and dedication to this character. I am very satisfied with the texture of this set; it is a very pure character record and capturing of light and shadow.
