[Firefly cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail, a custom design girl in a spring flower field

Preparing this Firefly custom design cosplay took quite a while. Since it isn't her standard combat outfit from the game, but rather a spring flower field limited look reimagined based on my understanding of the character. When settling on this direction, I wanted Firefly to step out of that cabin filled with machinery and starlight to spend a little time in real sunlight and flower bushes. Thus, the wig selected a silver-white primary tone, with subtle lake-blue gradient highlights added specifically at the ends and inner layers. That translucent blue preserved her iconic firefly essence while forming a wonderfully comfortable contrast with the surrounding orange, yellow, purple, and green sea of flowers.

Choosing the outfit took a lot of effort, eventually settling on this white lace tulle dress with a Lolita style flair. The lace flower choker at the neckline and the subtle floral print on the skirt were chosen specifically for the spring theme. The see-through tulle at the cuffs and shoulders, combined with independent lace sleeves, allowed natural skin luster to show under the sunlight—neither too heavy nor losing that ethereal, floating layered feel. The black bow headpiece adorned with light blue butterfly wings was a little personal touch I added, feeling it echoed her hair color perfectly while bringing the entire look closer to the romantic meaning of a custom design cosplay.

The shooting location was a vast sloped sea of flowers, with tiny orange and yellow blossoms covering half the hillside, plus purple flower belts and walking paths in the distance. The weather was superb that day, with natural light cascading onto the skirt and hair, creating a very soft halo. I rarely attempt grand pure-outdoor Flower field photography like this since wind and light are uncontrollable, but unexpectedly, the fluttering skirt blown by the wind added a touch of lively dynamism to the photos. In the candid moments captured by the photographer, closing my eyes to take in the flower fragrance or raising a hand to block dazzling sunlight felt remarkably natural.

Speaking of details in this shoot, what required the most adaptation was actually the weight of the skirt. The layered tulle combined with the underskirt felt a bit heavy when walking, especially on the soil of the flower field where I had to watch my step not to damage flowers while maintaining a graceful posture. However, upon completing this set of photos and seeing the subject blend seamlessly with the flowers in the frame, every bit of effort felt entirely worth it. My personal favorite is the first image—hand placed before my forehead, looking into the camera with a smile; that slightly playful and relaxed feel captures precisely the "meeting in spring" sentiment I wished to convey.

Without using any ornate scene props, relying entirely on nature's own colors made the images feel even more full of vitality. Every time I flip through these photos, I recall the touch of warm sunlight on my shoulders and the breeze blowing hair across my face. This spring, this flower field, and this custom outfit designed specifically for Firefly form a deeply tender memory for me.
