[Vivian Cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero, A Pleasant Surprise On-Site at BW

Getting a ticket for BilibiliWorld on July 10th after three attempts felt like a pleasant surprise. Though the process was exhausting, smoothly entering the venue was deeply satisfying. Once on-site, I naturally prepared a thoughtful set of convention photos. This time I cosplayed Vivian from Zenless Zone Zero, centering the aesthetic on white, blue, and black for a strong visual impact.

Starting with outfit details: the upper white ruffled sleeves combine lace pleats and metal buttons, with a deep blue bow gem piece at the collar serving as the focal point, echoing the large bow headpiece. The lower half features a black leather corset and a black-and-blue panel skirt with irregular raw-cut hems, adding layered depth. What pleased me most were the black stockings and blue cross-strap high heels; these vivid accent pieces drew immediate attention against the dark ensemble.

For the wig, I selected light purple curls paired with red contact lenses and custom elf ear cosplay props, instantly making the overall facial contours more dimensional. However, maintaining this look tested stamina and endurance; wearing pointed ears and a wig inside a muggy venue required constant readjustments. Comparing materials beforehand to find the ideal wig shade and headpiece match took effort, but seeing the final result made it worthwhile.

Light conditions differed sharply between BilibiliWorld indoor halls and outdoor areas. The photographer handled speedlight flash and ambient settings skillfully. For the night set, direct flash highlighted character texture and fabric layers. Direct hard light crisping face contours and clothing folds effectively blurred background crowds, drawing focus squarely onto the subject. Eye contact was equally crucial; to convey character temperament, I fine-tuned gaze sharpness and subtle facial expressions, avoiding any stiffness.

The umbrella prop across all three photos carried noticeable weight, but its black handle and blue-purple patterned canopy suited the character persona while providing a great interactive photography tool. Low-angle perspectives in Photos 1 and 2 made my silhouette appear tall, with hands gripping the handle to display sleeve and collar tailoring. If picking a cover photo, I'd choose Photo 3: a three-quarter shot in a single-leg standing pose that elongated body proportions, paired with a confident, playful chin-resting expression that highlighted the black stockings and blue strapped heels in a balanced composition. Centered without awkward cropping, it makes an ideal promotional cover.

Shooting on-site convention photos relies on building synergy with the photographer. This photoset required minimal post-processing, relying instead on lighting control during the shoot. Due to limited venue space, we squeezed into darker corners to shoot, putting thought into every frame. On-site angles risk blocking foot traffic, but shooting late minimized outdoor interference and avoided unwanted passersby.

Reflecting on this Shanghai trip, attending the convention felt truly fortunate. As a cosplay enthusiast, every outfit and photoset represents genuine dedication to the character and original game. Though tiring, standing before everyone as the character to share real-world resonance offers an irreplaceable experience. The charm of anime conventions lies in showcasing your best self before the lens, bringing fantasy characters into reality.

Preparing and releasing these convention photos serves as a small summary for July. Expressing Vivian's traits through the lens brought immense joy. Regarding photography, styling, or props, there are always details to review and refine, and I look forward to bringing an even better performance next time.
