Shooting in this Xiao Wu cosplay outfit was quite a test of endurance. First were the purple Bunny ears and silver metal headpiece—they carried noticeable weight and felt a bit heavy after wearing them for a while, but ensuring the headpiece stayed secure was vital to faithfully recreate the character. Styling the black wig also took time, with considerable effort spent adjusting the angle of the bangs to harmonize the frontal makeup and face shape.

For makeup, the focus was placed on the eyes: wearing purple colored contacts paired with reddish eyeshadow and finely elongated eyeliner, aiming to convey Xiao Wu's spirited yet subtly proud gaze. I used a fair foundation shade that caught the ring light evenly, finishing with a soft pink lip color to match the overall character aesthetic.

We shot two setups in total. The first was a frontal close-up, highlighting the silver brooch, lace cuffs, and the delicate pink-and-white palette of the bodice. I deliberately sought even frontal lighting while monitoring cheek shadows; close-ups test facial expression management, requiring slight jaw adjustments to elongate the neckline. The second was a full-length mirror shot to check the drape of the skirt hem, as well as the visual impact of long legs and the high-slit design under the lighting. Mirror selfies require adjusting phone holding angles to lengthen body proportions via mirror reflection; although there was some clutter around the mirror, it added a genuine, casual everyday ambiance.

The costume is crafted primarily from airy chiffon and satin, giving the skirt beautiful fluid motion when moving. The high-slit cut and cinched corset tailoring place high demands on body proportions, requiring engaged core muscles throughout the session. The silver rings on my fingers and chest ornaments required careful handling to prevent snagging the delicate chiffon. The overall shooting experience was a joy; being able to bring such a distinct 2D character to life through Roleplay as a hobby is a truly precious immersive experience. Beyond a simple photoshoot, it offered deep appreciation for the artistry of costume and styling design. Ultimately, the pink and purple palette felt delightfully soft under warm indoor lighting. The close-up and full-body shots documented different facets of the character, and I hope everyone can feel the aesthetic charm of this outfit through the photos.
