[Ryuge Kisaki Cosplay] Gorgeous Outfits and Light-Shadow Play in Blue Archive: Freezing a Moment in a Traditional Chinese Mansion

From the blue-gray wig bun styling to the perfect fit of the Chinese high collar and gold thread embroidery, down to this slightly casual striped coat—everything was placed within a scene built with Chinese-style wooden chairs and screens.

The hair strands were trimmed smoothly, and with a few strands of long, straight bangs, the moment captured by the lens naturally revealed the character's subtle aura. During the live shoot, the photographer and I maintained great teamwork. The drape of the outer robe is a key highlight of this outfit. Once worn, it nicely conceals certain body contours while retaining a rich sense of layering. Especially the elegant, generous cut of the cuffs combined with black fingerless gloves makes the entire upper body aura feel calm and decisive.

In the soft lighting environment of the studio, skin texture becomes exceptionally crucial. The color pairing of the foundation and red contacts makes the eyes look brighter and more spirited. In terms of posing, I tried two classic sitting postures. The first seiza-style kneeling pose is more introverted and gentle, with my hand casually resting on my hair, giving off an easygoing vibe. The second one adopts a cross-legged sitting posture, paired with black high-heeled pumps. In fact, this way of sitting is much more convenient for showcasing the proportions and lines of the lower body. With the vintage setting enhanced by the Chinese-style Qipao outfit elements, any sitting pose naturally carries a powerful visual tension.

To mention a small interlude—I originally thought we could smoothly produce the photos right after posing, but during post-processing, I noticed that the details of the lower body were quite prominent. If fully exposed, it might cause censorship issues on platforms. After weighing the options, we ultimately decided to use a cartoon pattern sticker to cover the critical spot. Although it obscured many design details, from a visual standpoint, it can be considered a fun little unexpected twist.

The wooden cabinets, scrolls, and vintage leather suitcases in the venue perfectly balanced the cold, stark white feel typical of studio shoots. The infusion of these traditional elements elevates the photos beyond ordinary studio filters, adding a touch of everyday life. When shooting this type of character, what truly attracts me is the unique temperament that can be shaped within that specific environment once the costume and wig are fully restored. Every time I review the raw photos, I need to repeatedly refine the makeup, expressions, and movements so that the final output can truly be called a high-quality anime cosplay work.

Looking back at this location shoot process, it actually took a lot of thought from preparation to the official start. Managing the wig is sometimes even more exhausting than the costume. The fluffiness of the center part and the side hair buns, as well as the styling accessory fixed on top of the head, all needed constant attention during the shoot. Fortunately, my assistant was amazing, helping me tidy up the flattened parts at any moment.

Sometimes I think that moving around the studio in an outfit like this is quite a test of physical stamina and control over the clothing. But seeing the temperament exuded from the inside out in the final photos makes me feel that all of this was absolutely worth it. I hope everyone likes this look in this particular setting; it can be considered a tribute to the character's aesthetic appearance.

Finally, while packing up after the shoot, looking at the slightly wrinkled silk fabric on me, I felt it was truly a fulfilling day. For every cosplay set to ultimately present such harmonious lighting, shadow, and texture, I must genuinely thank the coordination of the background props, the meticulous lighting setup, and the photographer's strict demands for detail.
