[Kamisato Ayaka cosplay] Standing Sword-in-Hand in the Midsummer of Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo

On Day 3 of the Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo, I cosplayed Kamisato Ayaka from Genshin Impact. I completed this set of photography on-site with photographer NightDiva, and the final results really met expectations. Doing cosplay and Cosplay photography outdoors on a hot summer day is a considerable test of physical endurance. The temperature that day was very high, but for character accuracy, I still wore the complete set of gear. This Kamisato Ayaka costume has a lot of intricate details: the white short-sleeved cross-collar top features light blue piping around the collar, paired with traditional dark blue hakama-style bottoms. The fine pink belt with tied tassels at the waist serves as a finishing touch, adding a hint of youthful softness to the overall black, white, and blue palette. To match the character, I wore a long silver-white wig, trimming and styling the layers of the bangs and sideburns, with both cheeks framed by tied red cords. For makeup, I selected blue contact lenses that mirror the character, giving my gaze a cooler, more focused look. As for props, the bamboo sword held in my hand was recreated to match the form and weight as closely as possible, feeling very solid to hold. Another crucial detail was the footwear: white split-toe tabi socks paired with black strapped geta clogs. Although walking in this setup required paying close attention to my center of gravity, wearing it immediately brought out the character's signature charm.

During the shoot, photographer NightDiva used a lot of low-angle lookup camera setups, which heavily tested the model's body control and facial expression management. The stance in photo two—leaning slightly forward with one arm extended—combined with wide-angle stretching, visually enhances the character's sense of extension and power. The low-center-of-gravity single-knee crouching pose in photo three possesses even greater visual tension; this combat-ready posture required core muscle engagement while carefully controlling the bamboo sword's orientation and body twisting angle. The July convention venue in Guangzhou was packed with heavy foot traffic, and although noisy outdoors, finding the right angles and lighting could still yield clean shots. The fill light box used on-site was mainly to counteract harsh facial shadows caused by overhead sunlight, making facial features look three-dimensional while retaining the costume's original texture. In this photography attempt, what I wanted to present was not an aloof distance, but rather her effortless, agile composure in a battle state. As the princess of the Yashiro Commission's Kamisato Clan, Kamisato Ayaka possesses formidable swordsmanship skills and a cool resilience at her core. I intentionally restrained my facial expressions to maintain a quiet, focused poise—ready to strike at any moment. Wearing this attire, holding this bamboo sword, and standing on the scorching streets of Guangzhou, sweat kept dripping down, yet whenever we captured a frame with perfect composition and mood, that feeling of resonating on the same frequency as the character was truly wonderful.
