This set of Convention photos was shot just outside the Sony booth area at ChinaJoy 2026. The booth was completely swarmed with overwhelming foot traffic, making finding clear camera angles indoors nearly impossible. So the photographer and I dashed outdoors to make the most of the gorgeous weather, wrapping up this lightning-fast 10-minute session.
For my coordinate, I picked a pink-and-lavender ensemble leaning fully into a Sweet style girl aesthetic. The top features a plaid corset bodice with crisscross lacing, layered with white lace puff sleeves and airy pink flared tulle cuffs. Iridescent holographic purple stars adorn both the bust and the skirt tiers, injecting rich visual depth. To complete the look, I wore high twin tails topped with a matching miniature top hat fascinator. The lower half was styled with White pantyhose and an accent pink leather garter ring with a heart-shaped metal buckle around the thigh, adding sharp visual detail to full-body frames while tying into classic white Mary Jane heels for a seamless, polished finish.
The undeniable advantage of shooting outdoors is the abundance of natural daylight. When setting up these shots, I favored front-lit angles to reveal the delicate textures of the lace and fine netting on the skirt. Because the silhouette is a multi-tiered bell-shaped cupcake skirt, I struck a playful pose lifting one leg while opening both arms wide. This posture not only accentuated the flared bell silhouette of the dress, but cleanly showed off my leg contours and White pantyhose. A gentle breeze caught my twin tails right in the middle of a pose, and the photographer clicked the shutter right on cue, capturing an energetic, fluttering moment full of life.
Walking the floor for all four days of the convention was an exhausting physical marathon, especially with endless laps back and forth through Hall E6 during the final two days that left the soles of my feet aching. With so many accessories, keeping the wig and hair ornaments pristine meant regular checks throughout the crowds to prevent slipping. Nonetheless, shooting in the open outdoor air was a breath of fresh relief—no claustrophobic shoving, just an ultra-efficient 10-minute turnaround for high-quality final stills.
The intricate details of this outfit make putting it on and taking it off a meticulous affair. On-site, I kept a careful eye on the flare of the skirt hem; with mindful positioning, the natural sunlight rendered breathtaking straight-out-of-camera color payoff. I couldn't be happier with these Convention photos commemorating my time at ChinaJoy 2026, and I look forward to bringing even more charming coordinates to future conventions to meet everyone!
