The core concept behind shooting this Luo Tianyi cosplay series on a transit platform was portraying the visual overlap between the real world and 2D realms. This elevated platform was chosen because its sweeping arched steel frame acted like a natural picture frame, framing the blue sky and white clouds. The pristine floor tiles functioned like a mirror, reflecting the sky and architecture to provide an authentic canvas for integrating 2D elements.
During the shoot, I wore a classic Sailor suit whose light blue skirt complemented the white top seamlessly. The over-the-knee White long socks showed subtle crease textures in the natural daylight, paired with black leather shoes to create a clean, refreshing color contrast. Carrying a black shoulder bag added a touch of everyday realism. The wind was strong along the platform, requiring constant posture adjustments to keep the skirt hem from fluttering excessively. To emphasize the character, we explored wide-angle lenses, taking advantage of the platform's depth and finding optimal tilted angles to establish symmetrical harmony between the subject and the floor reflection.
In post-production, emphasis was placed on boosting the blue saturation of the sky and fine-tuning reflection details on the floor to make the surface appear more crystalline. The crisp architectural lines formed a pleasing visual contrast with the blue-and-white attire, beautifully fitting Luo Tianyi's pure, spirited, yet grounded charm. Standing on a platform rich in geometric beauty while watching cloud reflections drift beneath my feet created a surreal sensation of breaking through the dimensional wall. Great care went into shaping the lighting, using backlighting paired with ground bounce to soften facial contours. The stone bases and wooden bench textures anchored the scene in everyday reality, preventing the frame from feeling overly detached. It was a wonderful shoot, capturing a magical 2D moment right within an authentic real-world setting through mindful composition and light.
