Sharing this Luo Tianyi cosplay set, today I want to focus on discussing my experience wearing this stage performance outfit. What attracted me most about this costume is the main color scheme of white and blue. In terms of texture, a glossy finish material was chosen, paired with a silver-and-black checkerboard pattern. Under the lights against the blue background, the texture stands out remarkably well, creating a feel that combines futuristic tech with an Anime-style fashion idol.
First, regarding hair and makeup: this time I wore a silver-grey short wig that was trimmed and styled into layered, feathered strands, leaving longer sideburns to make my face look smaller. The huge black bow on top of the head is the soul of the look, with bright blue piping around the edges that highly unifies with the outfit's blue and white elements. I wore emerald green contact lenses, paired with pearlescent eyeshadow and eyeliner, making my gaze look more lively under the lens. To match this cool yet playful makeup, I chose a natural peach lipstick to make my complexion look more natural.
Taking a closer look at the cut of this costume, its highlight lies in the multi-layered deconstructed design. The upper body features a crop-top cut, with ultra-thin white straps added over the checkerboard area on the chest, adding detail while keeping the overall look light. The choker and the ultra-long blue-and-black striped tie serve as the visual focal point; the tie extends below the waistline, fluttering naturally when walking or swinging the microphone, creating a strong sense of stage dynamism. In addition to the broad white waistband, a small white waist pack is attached to the hip, being practical while balancing the weight distribution of the costume. The sleeves have a very special design—loose, floor-length detached sleeve cuffs color-blocked in black, white, and blue, giving off the unique tension of stage styling.
For this photoshoot, we selected a solid blue backdrop and set up a blue rim light from the side-rear. This cool-toned lighting not only outlines the subject's edges, but also makes the blue-and-white outfit look even cleaner and sharper. For poses during this Cosplay photography session, I mainly focused on various postures holding a microphone. The cover photo uses a slightly tilted-up angle, looking straight ahead with one hand holding the microphone; paired with a relaxed stance, it perfectly conveys that moment of preparing to sing on stage. For the final image, to enhance interaction and spatial sense, I deliberately held the microphone right in front of the lens, using forced perspective to create an impactful shot, which was super fun.
Although during the shoot the shiny upper top reflected light under indoor lamps, requiring constant lighting adjustments to avoid distracting hotspots while ensuring exposed shoulder and waist lines didn't look stiff during movements, holding the microphone in front of the camera brought an immersive performance feeling that made me forget discomforts like heavy props or a tight waist cincher. In fact, many cosplay costumes compromise breathability and convenience to pursue character accuracy, but the moment great photos are produced, all the hard work feels completely worth it. For this kind of idol-style look, I feel expressing facial temperament is more crucial than merely executing poses. The strength of looking into the lens and the relaxation of micro-expressions require repeated practice in front of a mirror to keep the photos from looking stiff.
In post-processing, I preferred keeping the natural texture of skin without excessive smoothing filters, focusing instead on boosting the blue color saturation so that the background blue and the sapphire blue color blocks on the costume visually resonated and layered, making the overall image look clearer. Every time I try a different style, it feels like rediscovering the Virtual Diva character. This Luo Tianyi cosplay look allowed me to experience being a stage idol; from wig to boots, from makeup to expressions, every scrutinized detail brought immense satisfaction in the final photos. Though the schedule was tight, the team's professional cooperation enabled me to perform naturally in front of the camera. Many thanks to the photographer for capturing those fleeting brilliant moments. I hope this photo set delivers that cool yet vibrant stage atmosphere.
