[Yuyuko Cosplay] Touhou Project Summer Translucent Outfit Record

This time I'm cosplaying Yuyuko from Touhou Project. This summer version featuring a mainly light blue dress is one of my recent favorite attempts.

Friends familiar with the original setting probably know that Yuyuko's character temperament falls into the elegant and gentle category, but wearing those traditional, heavy, and gorgeous clothes in summer is truly agonizing. Therefore, when choosing the costume this time, I specially picked this modified style with a light blue base, covered with white lace and ruffles on the edges. It has a strong sense of layering, which retains the character's original lightness while being much more breathable to wear.

The deep blue wide waistband at the waist is the finishing touch of this outfit, forming a very comfortable contrast with the light blue skirt body, cinching the waist without looking sluggish. The cut of the neckline and shoulders is also decorated with ruffles, matching the red strap details on the chest to give a very youthful, girl-like visual feel. For the wig, I chose this shade leaning towards pink, and the curl is just right—not overly puffy to make the head look big. The ends of the hair fall naturally, perfectly echoing the lace elements of the skirt hem.

For the shoes, I stepped into a pair of thick-soled geta sandals, which effectively elongates the leg visuals during mirror selfies. When everyone sees this photo, you should notice that this overall outfit leans towards a Casual cosplay style but carries character elements. Actually, before deciding to do this character, I did a lot of homework to research the fabric materials and color schemes, aiming to both stay close to the classical style of the original work and meet the visual presentation requirements of modern cosplay.

Speaking of the photo scene, this time it was composed in front of a full-length mirror indoors, which completely displays the upper-body effect of this outfit. Holding the phone in hand blocks the face, also retaining a bit of mystery. The black object held in hand is actually an unfolded folding fan prop, though it might easily be mistaken for another item due to the angle and hand movements. This is a small interlude; it's a slight pity that I didn't show the fan spread out, but overall, this photo displays the clothing details, color scheme, and general atmosphere, so I am personally quite satisfied.

Many peers might be curious about whether messy environments would show in the mirror, so I specially cleaned up the background before shooting, selecting clean-colored walls and wooden floors to keep the tone of the entire photo sufficiently clean. This crisp reflection is truly suitable for a summer atmosphere.

Regarding expressions and movements, because taking photos facing a mirror requires balancing the focus and equilibrium, the posture wasn't overly exaggerated. Instead, this natural way of holding hands down matches the calm and composed feeling that Yuyuko gives people. To me, cosplay is not just about restoring the character itself, but rather integrating one's own aesthetic understanding into the clothing and the frame.

Sharing this outfit today is actually to convey a relaxed and happy state of doing cosplay, interpreting the character with a fresh color scheme without blindly emphasizing heaviness. The Touhou Project series has always given people a sense of legend and classical beauty. I think presenting it with this summer flavor is also a unique interpretation within our Anime-style fashion in 2D daily life. I feel the completeness of the entire styling has passed the passing line, whether from the echo of accessories or the coordination of the overall color scheme, making it a relatively comfortable process of taking photos. I spent a long time adjusting the positions of the skirt hem and neckline in front of the mirror, and I personally really love this final effect.
