Ulrich, Enigma, Cold Saturday, Medicine Pocket, Regulus, X, Windsong, and Cooper Garland—the final layout for this Reverse: 1999 scientific computing team ensemble is finally complete. As the cosplayer portraying Lucy, this was an exceptionally unique experience.

The most challenging part of the outfit was without a doubt the pair of silver tall boots. While pairing them with the white shirt and black shorts created an elongated leg silhouette and perfectly embodied the cool, subtly dangerous aura of the Laplace Scientific Computing Center, standing for hours or sitting cross-legged on a chair in the vintage study put immense strain on my knees and calves. Fortunately, the final visual effect made all the effort worthwhile.

Coordinating an ensemble shoot is quite a feat. In a vintage study featuring large French windows and antique bookshelves, everyone repeatedly adjusted their positions while keeping the natural window lighting in mind. Beyond Lucy, each companion's styling was remarkably intricate—especially Medicine Pocket's massive helmet and heavy metallic elements, along with props like globes, aged newspapers, and a retro pinball machine that filled the entire space. The photographer had an incredible eye for angles, and the post-production graphic layout deliberately adopted the theme of "Determinism." Combined with floating paper sheets and moody shadows, it powerfully expressed that underlying restlessness, unease, and the oppressive weight of exploring the unknown.

While the white cyclorama studio segment had no physical set props, the minimalist background accentuated the kinetic tension of everyone's poses even better. Shooting low angles from the floor, tossing papers, or interacting around the pinball machine, the entire set was filled with unspoken synergy. This shoot brought a renewed understanding of the character lore and a deeper appreciation for the sense of fatalism woven into the scientific computing team. The shared memories of the team helping each other adjust costumes and smooth down wigs on set made the experience truly unforgettable.
