[Lucy cosplay] Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Bilibili World Convention photos Archive

The Convention photos from this Bilibili World are finally retouched! Bringing this Lucy cosplay from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners from preparation to reality took considerable effort. The suit is crafted from tight, reflective latex-like material, which felt very stifling and nearly unbreathable in person. To stay in peak condition during the convention, I wore moisture-wicking undergarments underneath and carried a portable fan everywhere. Yet it was precisely this glossy material, combined with signature Cyberpunk light and shadow, that gave the final photos such an incredible texture. For the makeup, I focused heavily on defining eye contours, wearing light-toned contact lenses, blending cool-toned eyeshadow widely around the eyes, and accenting with red eyeliner to strip away everyday softness and channel the character's cold, detached presence. The wig had its blunt bangs trimmed cleanly, and fine glitter was added to the hair strands to create subtle shimmering specks under strong lighting—a detail I was very pleased with.

Collaborating with photographer @Zhu.SAMA🔦📷 was an absolute pleasure. The shooting environment was actually quite standard industrial ruins—concrete walls and metal railings. However, the photographer was exceptional at finding angles and setting up lighting, using clashing cyan-blue and warm-yellow dual-color sources to carve out a neon-lit, layered spatial depth even in an ordinary venue. In the first photo, I angled my body slightly to let light and shadow accentuate the outfit's silhouette and waistline. In the fifth full-body composition, the cool and warm light pillars on either side of the backdrop complemented my standing stance wonderfully. Because the outfit features an off-the-shoulder jacket drape, showing off the neckline and shoulders was key to pose execution; keeping the back upright was essential to support the sleek, capable edge of the entire silhouette.

Navigating a massive convention like Bilibili World in this attire required extreme caution—glossy latex fabrics snag easily, and crowded halls run hot. To stay in character, I kept my expressions calm and aloof in front of the lens. Some have asked about wearing this suit: it is a one-piece with a back zipper, making it nearly impossible to get in and out of alone without friends assisting, and sitting down demanded extreme care to keep the fabric from creasing or shifting out of shape.

This photo set is not just a costume archive, but also an exploration of the 'high tech, low life' visual aesthetic of Cyberpunk. From material selection and makeup styling to the final lighting execution, every stage aimed to recreate that neon-drenched, industrial-decay atmosphere. Reviewing the shots after the shoot, I found that many angles captured spontaneous on-site inspirations—such as leaning against the railing or tilting my head toward the light shafts—which were natural adaptations to the ambient light at that exact moment. That is arguably the true magic of Convention photos: immortalizing the aura of a character in the most direct, vivid way within a fleeting slice of time and space.
