[Lu Yiting cosplay] Dark Gothic Experience in Murder Mystery Game 'Withdrawal Symptoms'

This time, I cosplayed Lu Yiting, codenamed Chlorpromazine, from the Murder mystery game 'Withdrawal Symptoms'. To embody this character's yandere disposition, I prepared a black jacquard dress detailed with metallic zippers and sculpted rose trims, paired with platform shoes and black ankle socks. The wig featured long, pale blonde locks with blunt straight bangs; my favorite touches were the black lace headband accented by a skeleton-claw grasping a pearl, alongside red and blue beaded wristbands, anchoring a distinct Dark Gothic aesthetic.

After playing through the scenario, I'd give the overall experience an 80 out of 100. The gameplay progression was quite well-crafted; the early segment where characters livestream responses to malicious hate comments felt strikingly authentic, drawing everyone in naturally without awkwardness. I especially enjoyed drawing slips to act out short, comedic melodrama scenes—as an icebreaker mini-game, it was genuinely hilarious and fun. However, past the icebreaker phase, character relationship setups felt slightly thin. For my character, the deepest bond lies with Lu Ye, whereas interactions with the other two female roles felt rather peripheral; even with the backstory conflict regarding plagiarized works, it felt like the two characters weren't personally close during gameplay, missing the visceral sting of being backstabbed by an intimate friend. As for the other two male roles, there was even less familiarity—I merely knew their surface identities.

The most toe-curling moment for an introvert like me was the sudden confession phase. Lacking adequate emotional buildup, suddenly having to confess feelings to a stranger with insufficient atmosphere forced me to stare down at my script the entire time, barely daring to make eye contact—feeling more like an observer reading a story than living the Roleplay. Yet once we reached the climactic confrontations between the Lu siblings, the acting truly became exhilarating. That tangled, twisted web of toxic love and hate was immensely compelling. The only humorous hiccup was having my hand bound together with a stranger—it felt a bit awkward, so we didn't dare tie it too tightly, nearly bursting into laughter on the spot.

Regarding Lu Yiting and Lu Ye, the pseudo-incest dynamic blended with canary-in-a-cage literature easily represents the most twisted, abnormal devotion in this entire game. Reviewing the promotional posters and invitation letter merchandise afterward—gazing at the cover composition of the white-haired girl and the birdcage, tied to that in-game line, 'You unlocked the cage with your own hands, setting the caged bird free'—left quite an emotional lingering ache. The script features dual endings determined entirely by the female character's choice, locking you out of the alternative once chosen, which made the decision agonizing.

Overall, this script is well-suited for players who crave intense romantic melodrama and high-stakes emotional collisions. As a cosplay endeavor, stepping into character while costumed for the tabletop session provided a far deeper connection to her turmoil and madness. While certain segments felt slightly rigid, the raw emotional explosive power remained thoroughly satisfying.
