This set of Convention photos was arranged in the studio area inside the convention. Since the theme revolves around the "trash bunny" and tactical gear, I went ahead and wore that blue-and-white sailor uniform.
The color scheme of this outfit is very refreshing—the oversized blue jacket with white striped collar trim and a green tie keeps the overall visual from feeling dreary. The jacket has a loose fit, but cinching it with a black belt nicely defines the waistline so it doesn't look boxy. The contrast between the White tights cosplay and the blue top is another highlight of this styling; white tights are very sensitive to lighting, but with sufficient studio lighting, the texture turns out gorgeous.
Props played a huge role during the shoot. This setup included black binoculars and a sizable white prop gun. Holding the binoculars—whether pretending to scout ahead or casually hanging them as an accessory—instantly brought out the character's sense of being on a tactical mission. Pairing this rifle with a standard school sailor uniform created an indescribably charming gap-moe contrast.
Then came the highlight of this shoot—the blue-and-black trash bin. To give the scene better ambiance, we laid a white plush rug on the floor. Whether lying down or sitting, I didn't have to worry about the hard floor, and it kept the lower half of the frame from being just dirty gray concrete. There were plenty of fun ways to interact with the trash bin, such as tentatively sticking a foot inside or lazily leaning against the rim. Nailing these seemingly casual poses wasn't easy: I had to continuously adjust my posture by the bin to ensure garment folds draped naturally while keeping leg positioning flattering in front of the lens.
Hair-wise, the straight purple wig became unmistakably distinctive once topped with the bunny-ear headband and green leaf hair accessory. Blunt bangs paired with slightly curled sidelocks, combined with this uniform, faithfully captured her blend of playful charm and timid earnestness. For makeup, warm-toned eyeshadow and matching lip tint formed a complementary warm-cool balance with the purple hair, looking lively and refreshed on camera.
Because we shot in the convention's studio area, the background inevitably had minor clutter like light stands or reflectors. However, we framed the shots carefully to keep the visual focus entirely on the subject and props. Throughout the shoot, constantly cycling through lying down, sitting up, and holding the binoculars made the white tights prone to catching lint and dust. So between poses, I used a lint roller to quickly clean up, keeping the white areas pristine and crisp.
The tone of this entire set is lighthearted, relaxed, and quirky—no overly complex gazes or solemn expressions needed, just having fun interacting with the trash bin, binoculars, and prop gun in full tactical gear. To capture genuine fleeting moments during these movements, the camera was set to continuous burst mode, seizing the most organic frames in motion. The final results look vivid and dynamic, conveying the character's delightfully clumsy yet endearing nature. Tidying up the rug and props after wrapping up was a satisfying, slice-of-life close to a full day of shooting.
