After shooting this set of Laffey II photoshoots, during the process of organizing the raw images, I found that the blue-and-white color palette combined with the bunny ear elements has an extremely high visual compatibility in the final results. The goal of this shoot was to recreate Laffey II's soft, cute, and slightly lazy home-style vibe from Azur Lane as much as possible. The overall clothing selected was a classic off-the-shoulder sailor-style top with a white base and blue edges. The dominant white color tone, paired with the dark blue sailor collar and bow headpiece, looks exceptionally clean under the bright soft light of the photography studio, with no redundant messy colors interfering.
Let's talk about the handling of details in this styling. The dark blue bow and feather-like decorations on top of the head, combined with the silver-white long hair wig, pull the center of gravity of the top of the head upward. Coupled with the silhouette of the bunny ears, the overall head styling layering is quite rich. The collar and cuffs of the top feature blue-and-white stripes, and the small buttons on the chest and light blue ribbons also enrich the clothing details. The part I cared about most was actually the leg wear; these gradient thigh-high stockings transition from pure white to light blue, offering an extending effect visually, and when paired with the matching blue leg ring, it perfectly fits the character's sailor elements. This kind of over-the-knee socks with a strap design actually has certain requirements for posture placement during shooting. If the movements are too casual or the legs are not straightened, it will make the direction of the stockings look messy, so during the shoot, I also paid special attention to the line direction of the legs.
The matching of props and scenes is also one of the key points of this set. The white plush bunny toy cradled in my arms is an excellent interactive prop, its own character tag echoing the character's bunny ear styling. The scene was arranged with a white iron screen and carved bench, surrounded by white lilies, blue delphiniums, and various faux flowers. These background elements combined to provide a very bright and refreshing environmental atmosphere. During the shoot, I tried two different dynamics: standing and sitting. In addition to the standard standing pose holding the bunny, when sitting on the bench, I slightly lifted one leg, utilizing the gradient thigh-high stockings and the plush bunny styling on the shoes to break up the singularity of the vertical composition, making the frame more vivid.
This time, the photographer used a relatively large softbox to achieve uniform lighting across the panorama. This lighting condition is particularly suitable for shoots in a moe girl style, because harsh hard light can easily destroy this bright and pure atmosphere, while soft light can make facial contours and clothing materials appear softer. Later, when color grading, I also controlled the saturation, not allowing the blue-and-white color palette to appear overly eye-catching, but instead trying to preserve a translucent texture. Overall, this set of Laffey II photos revolved entirely around the 'moe' and 'sailor elements' from costume coordination, prop interaction to scene arrangement, and the final presented result fits expectations quite well.
