[Sailor Collar Uniform and Brass Instrument Staircase Outdoor Shoot]

The moment I put on this brown sailor collar uniform, paired it with the bright red bow tie, and changed into black stockings, the feeling belonging to this character was instantly on point. The location for this shoot was chosen at an outdoor concrete staircase; we didn't deliberately choose a gorgeous studio, precisely because we appreciated this unpretentious sense of approaching a daily scene. The rough cement steps and the wildly growing greenery in the background formed a wonderful visual contrast with the exquisite sailor suit.

The lighting on the day of the shoot was quite complex, with the afternoon sunlight filtering through the leaves and casting dappled shadows on the steps. To avoid the harsh shadows brought by the overhead light, we intentionally chose a time when the light was slightly slanted to begin shooting. In the first photo, I am sitting sideways on the edge of the steps, with one hand subconsciously resting on one side of my neck, gazing away from the camera. This pose requires excellent control over the body's center of gravity, especially when wearing black stockings to make the leg lines look more slender; making the posture look neither stiff nor slightly languid is actually a true test of the model's body control. After repeatedly adjusting my sitting angles a few times, I finally found the position that best balanced comfort and compositional tension.

The second photo incorporates interaction with a prop. This trumpet with a brass texture is one of the core elements of this photoshoot. To match the character setting, I specifically recreated the gesture of holding the musical instrument. Gripping the brass tube with one hand while the other hand naturally supported the details at the bottom required the metallic luster of the instrument to contrast beautifully with the brown uniform. The sunlight spilling over the surface of the brass tube generated very beautiful highlights, adding a quiet and focused atmosphere to the entire image. Although the instrument in my hands isn't actually being played, a simple resting hold is enough to instantly immerse people into the frame's sense of storytelling.

In cosplay, details are often the deciding factor for the final image's quality. From the patchwork stitching of the uniform and the neatness of the alignment, to the folding curve of the sailor collar, down to the tightness of the bright red bow tie, every outdoor shoot is a full-hearted investment. Although the prop was borrowed, as long as it is in my hands, it needs to be presented entirely as a part of myself; even if it's just a fleeting pause in a sitting pose, the character's state must be maintained. The photos chose a barefoot state without footwear to present the combination of black stockings and the sitting posture, which actually fits this slightly casual and relaxed staircase scene much better than wearing small leather shoes.

Regarding the post-production editing mindset, this time we leaned toward preserving the environment's original cool tones, giving the overall image a slightly refreshing, subtle blue feel to neutralize the heaviness of the brown uniform. No major artificial changes were made to the shaping of the light; instead, the transitions between facial highlights and shadows were enhanced along the direction of the natural light, making the facial features look more dimensional, clear, and clean. The greatest charm of outdoor shooting lies in this "controllable unpredictability"—you can set the composition and parameters, but the direction of the wind, the changes in the cloud layers, or even an occasional passing beam of reflection will bring unexpected vitality to the photo.

We actually took a lot of pictures for this set, and the final two selected ones best express my understanding of this character. Not every movement needs to be bold or dramatic; sometimes sitting quietly, holding props with a sense of story, and conveying the temperament through gazes and body language can yield a far better effect. For this final release, everything from the texture of the makeup (a bare-faced style nude look, discarding excessive glitter and intense colors) to the natural cascading curve of the hair and the framing of the eyes by the bangs underwent meticulous consideration. I hope through this sharing, everyone can enjoy this cosplay presentation imbued with a campus atmosphere and a slightly cool demeanor.
