When shooting this set of cosplay photos themed around sweet dreams and healing, I deliberately set the overall color tone to a dreamy combination of light blue, pink-white, and purple. The long, straight, light blue wig perfectly suits this ethereal feel; paired with pointed elf ears in this Elf ear outfit, putting them on instantly gave me an immersive sensation of stepping into a fantasy realm. To align with the character setting, I chose light purple contact lenses paired with a soft, skin-flattering everyday makeup look, striving to retain 2D anime traits without appearing overly heavy or unnatural.
Regarding the costume, the base layer features an off-the-shoulder pink-and-white ruffled top accented with a dark plaid bow tie at the neckline and a dainty metallic bell pendant, giving an overall light and adorable impression. The sleeves adopt a detached flared design, boasting extensive purple, pink, and white cloud patterns and swirling motifs across the wide cuffs, accented by delicate black bows on the sleeve shafts for rich layered detailing. I personally love the waist corset design: encircled by a pink-and-purple braided cord, the visual center in front features a blue-purple striped bow centered with a decorative buckle bearing matching swirl textures, which, paired with the pleated white mini skirt beneath, exudes fresh vibrancy while flattering the body silhouette.
For set design, I deliberately chose deep red drapes printed with golden floral and botanical patterns as the backdrop for this Japanese style cosplay. This rich, warm-toned background beautifully highlights the light blue hair and pink-purple garments, creating vivid visual contrast while conveying a collision between classical Japanese aesthetics and anime styling. In the frame, traditional Japanese paper lanterns and scattered cherry blossoms were incorporated as accents; atop the wooden table below, I placed a fluffy yellow animal plush toy and a ceramic bowl. These subtle elements broke through any potential background monotony, making the overall composition much more lively and full.
In posing design, beyond standard arm-raising gestures to display the sleeves and garment, I specifically used a black folding fan prop to enhance engagement with the lens. The fan serves both as a visual transition and provides versatile hand positioning—whether half-covering the face with the opened fan or holding it slanted across the chest, it conveys a more nimble and gentle grace. For photography lighting, we chose soft, warm-toned illumination; shining upon the light-colored wig and bare shoulders, this lighting emphasized a translucent, soft skin texture while bringing out the three-dimensional depth of the cloud patterns and fabric pleats.
Regarding the "Yumekui-Baku" motif mentioned in the post, I did some research before styling this Yumekui-Baku cosplay to understand the aura of devouring nightmares and bringing restful sleep. Thus, during the shoot, I restrained big smiles while keeping a gentle, comforting gaze. Having poured so much thought into it, I added an OOC disclaimer at the beginning, considering my personal interpretation might deviate slightly from official Genshin Impact character lore. Yet, as an act of self-expressive cosplay, I hoped to interpret this dreaminess and healing power in a style I excel at. The synergy between hair/makeup and the setting fully met my expectations. Styling the wig and securing the elf ears in this Yumemizuki Mizuki cosplay took time, but the resulting atmosphere makes every bit of effort worthwhile.
