[Baizhu Cosplay] Genshin Impact Baizhu Cosplay: Bubu Pharmacy Doctor on Call, Capturing Aloof Scholarly Elegance

The consultation moments at Bubu Pharmacy have been frozen in time within this photo set. Taking advantage of a day off, we set up a real scene centered around a traditional Chinese study in a booked studio. From celadon tea cups and ink-wash scrolls to vintage standing lanterns, every piece of decor was arranged to match the character's everyday environment as closely as possible, allowing an atmosphere of refined elegance to filter through naturally.

The styling focus lies in the emerald-green short hair and the thin-chained glasses, which offer wonderful transparency under the studio lights. The most striking element is undoubtedly the white wrapped snake-like neck accessory; soft yet substantial, it required precise positioning during wear to maintain its form. While it slightly restricted my movement range, this actually helped me capture his reserved, composed posture. The top fabric features a matte finish that avoids reflection under camera lighting, yielding a solid texture. The thin silver chain of the glasses dangling beside my face nicely contoured the jawline silhouette.

The costume is a teal-and-green color-blocked crop top design, paired with gold-rimmed metallic bracers. When holding a book, the transition between the cuffs and hand movements forms clean, sharp lines. For this set, I selected three main poses: leaning over the desk holding a writing brush to simulate writing prescriptions or studying; holding a thread-bound antique book with a focused gaze; and partially obscuring my line of sight with a folding fan while holding a celadon teacup facing the camera. These three states correspond to professional, contemplative, and relaxed atmospheres, creating a rich narrative progression.

Throughout the shoot, I paid constant attention to controlling facial micro-expressions—avoiding anything overly dramatic to maintain a tranquil, confident composure. Warm yellow indoor lighting striking my profile highlighted the facial bone structure shaped by makeup alongside amber eyes. The glasses chain dangling and gently swaying occasionally introduced subtle dynamic details to the frame. Beyond the three standard poses mentioned earlier, I also attempted candid shots away from the lens, such as turning sideways to touch the inkstone on the desk or casting down my eyelashes to gaze at the tea broth in my hand. These casual moments often align even more closely with Baizhu's persona, conveying a serene, unshakeable composure.

Although the midriff-baring cut of this outfit made holding still in a heavily air-conditioned studio somewhat challenging, surrounded by calligraphy, paintings, and bamboo shadows, I quickly immersed myself in his persona. The shooting day was rather muggy, leading us to run the studio A/C on high; thankfully, a few warm-emitting small lanterns served as excellent fill light props while atmosphere-building a tranquil twilight chamber vibe. With my makeup and wig firmly set, I only needed to smooth down my clothes between pose transitions before swiftly diving into the next shooting cycle.

The doctor of Bubu Pharmacy always imparts a sense of reliable yet distant air, and restoring this temperament through props and expressions was a part of this cosplay experience I thoroughly enjoyed. In terms of overall color tone, post-processing leaned slightly warmer to imbue the golden bracers and bamboo pen racks with richer Traditional Chinese classical charm. The ink marks on the scrolls were deliberately kept slightly soft rather than overly sharpened, preserving an authentic rubbings texture that grows on the viewer. Whenever shooting characters infused with rich traditional Chinese elements, I invest extra care into set design, because environmental authenticity is the key to bringing a character to life.
