[Sankarea: Undying Love cosplay] The Endless Summer of Hydrangea Season: A Quiet Girl's Everyday Routine

This photoshoot took place in the Endless Summer hydrangea field at Dongguan Xiangyu Baihuayuan, just as the plum rain season was ending and the hydrangeas were in full bloom. For the outfit, I prepared a white sailor uniform with purple trim, a dark blue bow tie, over-knee black stockings, and uniform shoes. The wig was a smooth, long straight black style, which, paired with a pale blue butterfly hair accessory and red contact lenses, perfectly matched the cool color scheme of the hydrangea field. The transparent umbrella prepared was the thematic prop, which not only shielded us from occasional rain showers but also filtered soft light during the shoot.

The light on the day of the shoot was actually very soft, with no direct harsh sunlight. This diffused overcast light is highly favorable for presenting the texture of the sailor uniform. To find the best compositions, we moved carefully through the dense clusters of flowers, trying our best not to damage the petals. The first overhead lying shot was a real test of lens distortion control; during the actual shoot, the camera was almost pressed directly down against the flowers. The subsequent sitting shots on the white bench primarily used a crossed-leg pose and the tilted lean of the transparent umbrella to shape the visual center of the frame. It is worth mentioning that the third photo, which serves as the cover, capturing me fixing my hair, is a casual snapshot of the character's signature demeanor—neither overly enthusiastic nor completely indifferent. This relaxed yet slightly detached posture perfectly matches the quiet, unpretentious temperament of the hydrangeas.

Photographer Chenguang Star was highly intuitive in controlling the aperture and composition. To create a sense of depth in the Endless Summer hydrangea field, we made extensive use of foreground blur, positioning the camera lens close to the pink and blue hydrangeas, using the blue flower wall behind my face as a background to anchor the large blocks of color. The bench served as an excellent geometric line prop; the color collision between the white wrought iron and the green foliage looked incredibly clean. We also tried holding a flower in my mouth midway through, which was a relatively spontaneous freeze-frame. As a casual daily record set, we didn't use complex studio lights, relying purely on natural skylight to create a translucent feel—even the reflections on the ribs of the transparent umbrella became a nice bonus to the frame.

Regarding the core of the character, in the original setting of Sankarea: Undying Love, she indeed carries a sense of serenity intertwined with absurd sorrow. In such a romantic flower field representing "Endless Summer," I tried to convey that longing for an "ordinary everyday life." With no excessive emotional exaggeration, just sitting quietly or staring into space with the umbrella, this restrained performance actually allowed the uniformed figure to blend beautifully into the flower bushes. Going through the entire makeup process and walking around to find angles was a bit tiring, but seeing the cool, desolate feel diffused by the blue and purple tones in the final photos made everything feel completely worth it. This outdoor shoot truly allowed me to find a natural vitality that cannot be simulated in a studio. This is a very satisfying cosplay photography experience.
