Doing this summer swimsuit cosplay look of Asuka is an attempt I had been highly looking forward to. Red, as one of Asuka's most representative visual symbols, appears exceptionally dazzling and high-profile under the scorching sun. When putting on this red-themed two-piece ruffled swimsuit and wearing the iconic twin-tail hair accessories, it felt as if I instantly broke free from the daily routine, capturing her confident, tsundere yet bright summer anime girl vibe.

I put quite a lot of thought into the hair and makeup preparation. The twin-tails are where the soul lies; making this high-cranial-top hairstyle maintain a fluffy and natural flow in an outdoor water environment truly relies on experience and small tips. Paired with the iconic red triangular hair clips, even just a slight glance backward allows people to instantly recognize the character. The blue contact lenses form a strong visual contrast with the red hair, which is exactly the expression of Asuka's clear yet stubborn gaze. In the high-temperature environment of a summer location shoot, maintaining the wig's fluffiness and the makeup's completeness is the biggest challenge, but seeing the light and shadow of the sun spilling onto the hair strands in the finished photos, all the sweating and hard work were completely worth it.

The shooting scene was specially chosen in an outdoor leisure area with a large expanse of water, an environment that offers an excellent color clash with this red costume. Whether standing in the shallow water area or sitting on the poolside kicking up water splashes, it infuses this set of photos with a strong summer atmosphere and vitality. I really like those moments of splashing water drops captured by the lens, combined with expressions that are not intentionally artificial, allowing the entire set of photos to both retain the character's personality baseline and add a fresh sense of casual relaxation.

The detailed design of the swimsuit is also a major plus. The halter straps provide a clean and sharp athletic feel, while the multi-layered ruffled short skirt design retains a touch of a girl's playful cuteness. The intersection of light and shadow under the natural light by the water is very soft, allowing Asuka, a character originally bearing a strong personality, to present a comfortable and stretched-out state during leisure time.

To capture the best light and shadow, we spent a lot of time shooting, repeatedly sorting out the hairstyle and adjusting angles, wanting to present the frame that best fits the character's temperament. I feel that doing cosplay is not just about putting on this outfit, but also about understanding her—understanding her state and emotions in a casual environment. The candid snapshots while we played by the water were the most natural method, hoping to convey this familiar feeling that belongs to her. Under the interwoven red and blue, this summer swimsuit cosplay styling can be considered successfully completed.
