The location for this shoot was selected at a water park, primarily to take advantage of the lines and colors of the amusement park facilities in the background. The shooting session was set during the direct afternoon sunlight; this lighting allows the red jacket to appear richly saturated and reveals richer depth in the wig's color under the sun. To fit the character design in Neon Genesis Evangelion, high-contrast blue colored contacts were used for the eyes, which, paired with red eyeliner, provided striking translucency in the high-light waterfront environment. For Outdoor photography by the water in summer, one must mind sun protection as well as securing the wig and hat—since strong winds could easily blow the straw hat off, hidden black bobby pins were used for reinforcement. The choice of the black one-piece swimsuit also factored in lighting considerations: the fabric carries a subtle velvety texture, producing soft diffuse reflection under strong light to avoid the harsh, crushed shadows common with black garments in Swimsuit cosplay. We experimented with several ways of wearing the red jacket, ultimately opting for an off-the-shoulder half-draped style to create a visual focal point, while adjusting arm placement to optimize shoulder and neck contours. In terms of camera angles, low-angle upward shots combined with a wide-angle lens visually elongated leg proportions nicely. The half-crouching pose in the third photo required a lowered camera position to ensure harmony between facial and leg contours. Among these photos, the standing posture in the first image had the most balanced composition; touching the hat with one hand broke the rigid symmetry, centering the visual focus and making it ideal for a cover photo. Regarding prop usage, the focus was on maintaining stylistic unity between the straw hat and the red hair accessories. For makeup, blush and contouring were deepened deliberately to adapt to intense outdoor sunlight, preventing the face from appearing flat under noon light. Because the water park floor was slippery, special attention was paid to safety while adjusting poses. The entire Summer cosplay shoot took place in scorching heat; although touching up makeup took some time, the resulting imagery perfectly matched the refreshing yet passionate summer atmosphere. Ultimately, I selected this set of photos with minimal post-processing, preserving the crisp ambient light so the blue pool and sky formed a natural warm-and-cool contrast with the red jacket.
