[Grinning Professor cosplay] Blue Archive: Summer Log in a Sailor Suit Swimsuit

Bringing this Grinning Professor swimsuit look from concept to completion took considerable thought and effort. To faithfully embody the character's essence, I experimented extensively with the styling. For the top, I chose a semi-sheer white short-sleeved cover-up featuring a dark navy sailor collar with crisp white stripes for a bold contrast, finished with a scarlet ribbon bow and a golden bell at the chest as signature accents. The bottom half is a navy one-piece swimsuit featuring an athletic cut with high-leg openings, paired with long wavy light blonde hair for a clean, refreshing overall aesthetic.

For the makeup, I swept a generous wash of crimson-red shading around the eyes, paired with striking blue contact lenses to channel that enigmatic, subtly menacing presence unique to the character. The golden halo prop above my head was mounted on a discreet wire; although it required frequent angle adjustments between takes, the visual impact made it entirely worthwhile. In terms of props, a black cane and a blue-and-white swim ring greatly enriched the framing, lending stronger narrative depth to the compositions.

The shoot took place at an open-air outdoor swimming pool bathed in brilliant sunshine, though the harsh ambient glare proved challenging. Shooting right at the water's edge was tougher than expected, demanding constant repositioning to balance reflections on the water with the lush tropical greenery in the background. The pose in the first photo—raising one leg while looking back over my shoulder—was a real test of core strength; balancing barefoot on wet, slippery tile took over a dozen attempts to capture an effortless, natural posture. The second shot, resting against the swim ring, was framed from a high downward angle to showcase the crystalline clarity of the water, requiring me to relax fully and convey the leisurely bliss of summer by the pool.

I especially love concepts like this that blend everyday casual elements with high-concept design contrast. Infusing the swimsuit with Sailor suit motifs gives the character a grounded, lived-in charm. In posing, I relied on the cane and swim ring as natural support points to keep my body lines fluid rather than stiff. Basking in the sun between takes made touch-ups tricky, but the final frames came out wonderfully luminous and crisp. The color harmony between the water's shimmering blue and the deep navy of the swimsuit flowed together seamlessly. I hope this photo set brings everyone the breezy magic of a summer pool while honoring the character's distinctive style.
