[Marisa cosplay] Touhou Project Winter Snowy Scene Magician - Image 2

This time, I tried a Marisa cosplay, a classic character from Touhou Project. Shooting in the snow with the big mushroom hat and broom prop surprisingly matched the winter atmosphere perfectly. In the close-up of Image 1, the golden twin-tails are paired with a layered lace top, and the collar is embellished with a lake-blue gemstone brooch, which not only recreates the character's signature features but also elevates the overall refinement. The big black lace-trimmed mushroom hat looks highly textured under the sunlight, and against the white background, the visual focus stands out sharply. Image 2 is a full-body mirror selfie where you can intuitively see the overall silhouette of this look. The combination of the off-white skirt and black inner layer maintains the classic color proportions, while the broom and the plush-trimmed boots balance the magician setting with the practical needs of an outdoor shoot. The shooting site was chosen in a snowy outdoor scene in front of a small wooden cabin, where the wooden window frames and the vast white snowy landscape formed a natural backdrop, making the golden star patterns and the detailed lace textures on the costume even clearer. Touhou Project's fan-made creation environment has always been very rich, and Marisa's personality setting is also perfect for expressing in natural settings. To support the big hat of this look, hard tulle and black lace were specially spliced together in the material selection. By repeatedly adjusting the wavy folds of the brim, the expected volume was finally achieved. A lot of thought also went into styling the wig; not only did I have to ensure the symmetry of the braids on both sides, but I also had to manage the curve of the bangs. Paired with a relatively clear and translucent facial makeup, it aims to present the character's energetic and slightly playful disposition as much as possible. The snow reflection that day was very intense, which brought some challenges to controlling the light during the shoot. However, in the end, the harsh sunlight actually made the silhouette of the wizard costume more distinct, beautifully preserving the authentic texture in both close-ups and full-body shots. Walking around in the snow with this gear was a bit heavy, but seeing the layered lace and the hemline gently fluttering in the wind in the final photos made everything completely worthwhile. This attempt to integrate a classic anime character into a real winter scene successfully combines the three-dimensional structure of the costume with the spatial feel of the setting, recreating that energetic image of the magician for this winter photoshoot.
