[Minami Kotori Cosplay] Love Live! Spring Garden of the Flower Festival Limited Edition Look

This time we are shooting the Kotori Minami (Flower Festival Ver.) look. At first sight of this outfit, I was instantly drawn by its gentle color combination and unique sense of design.

The overall costume uses pure white and mint green as the main color palette, supplemented by light yellow and orange gold borders as outlines, creating a highly refreshing color scheme. The lapel design at the neckline, plus the three-dimensional white flower decorations hand-sewn on the chest, makes the upper body look packed with details. The off-the-shoulder cuff tailoring, coordinated with the three-dimensional floral ornaments on the dropped sleeves, beautifully showcases the shoulder and neck lines without looking overly dull. The layered skirt hem at the waist and lower body brings a highly lightweight drape, propping open beautiful arcs when walking or sitting down.

For the wig this time, I chose light golden long curls, combined with the character's traits to make relatively thick bangs. Two small braids were woven on the sides and adorned with small, delicate white flower hair accessories. What seems like a simple hairstyle actually took a lot of thought in terms of securing and styling. In terms of makeup, considering the macaron color palette of this outfit, I chose a rather translucent base makeup. The eyeshadow used a faint pink for the base, paired with pink-purple colored contacts, making the gaze look more agile and spirited, echoing the overall dreamlike atmosphere.

The shooting scene was a highly exquisitely decorated indoor photography studio, built with a white arched frame holding a swing. The studio roof and surroundings were densely wrapped with a vast amount of simulated greenery, vines, as well as pink, purple, and white fake flowers, constructing a spring garden texture enveloped by a sea of flowers. The photographer used a very soft high-key lighting setup, which ensures that all ambient light wraps around the figure evenly, making the frame look translucent and bright, while avoiding color differences in the mint green and light yellow on the clothes to a large extent.

In terms of movement design, we combined the environment and props. For props, we prepared a large bouquet of white flowers and a woven flower basket. For the first set of movements, I chose to lift the bouquet next to my face, slightly obscuring half of it to create a bit of a playful and interactive feel; the second set of shots adopted a posture holding the flowers with both hands, lowering my head slightly to capture that natural tenderness. The full-body shots standing next to the swing and placing my leg on the swing's crossboard highlighted the layers of the dress hem and the white cross-lace shoes on my legs—these accessories are also an important component of the overall look. During the shooting process, I would intentionally adjust my breathing to relax my expression as much as possible; since the costume itself already carries enough elements, there is no need for excessive exaggerated expressions, and natural micro-expressions often yield excellent effects.

The theme of the Flower Festival itself carries a vast amount of tenderness and energy. When facing the lens to present the character of Minami Kotori cosplay, I feel that besides the restoration of appearance, what matters more is to grasp that clean, sweet, and simultaneously slightly energetic and lively trait inherent to her. Therefore, I tried my best to melt into this flower-surrounded scene. By tilting my head slightly, resting my chin on my hands, or walking around casually, I fused the sense of vitality of this limited edition costume with the character's own temperament.

The bright and warm color tone finally presented in this set of photos genuinely surprised me too. The overall atmosphere is not dull at all, filled with a bright sense of spring. Taking photos under such comfortable light and scene made the chemistry with the photographer even more synchronized. I am highly glad to record this extremely radiant side of Kotori Minami (Flower Festival Ver.) through this instance of Anime cosplay photography.
