【Yazawa Nico cosplay】Love Live! White Day Awakening: Delivering My Feelings to You - Image 1

Having just wrapped up this shoot, while it's still fresh, let's talk about this set of White Day Awakening Yazawa Nico.

What I mainly wanted to recreate this time was that classic awakened card art from Love Live!, with an overall color palette centered around gradients of white, blue, and light purple. In crafting the costume, the most painstaking part was the tiered design of the skirt hem, utilizing a large amount of lightweight organza and chiffon to achieve that fluffy, fluttering texture seen in the photos. The light blue crisscross straps on the legs were also hand-woven according to the original artwork; though slightly tight to wear, they truly elongated the leg lines in the frame, serving as a highly recognizable element.

As for setting the overall atmosphere for this Dreamy studio photoshoot, we specifically hung dark blue velvet drapes in the studio, creating a stark contrast of cool and warm tones against the white Baroque-style relief pillars. Beside them were several light blue faux flowers and semi-translucent blue crystal props, adding another layer of dreamy lighting shifts to the frame. When setting up the lights, we deliberately chose softboxes to avoid overly harsh shadows, capturing that gentle, tender feeling of wanting to envelop one's feelings.

For hair and makeup, Nico features signature short black hair with white highlights, while the red tips look playful and lively. Instead of an overly ornate headpiece, I went with a white feather hair accessory for a lighter, more natural feel. To fit the theme of "delivering these feelings to you," I chose a seated posture curling up with arms around my knees. This pose not only showcases the leg details but also conveys an introverted, shy, yet brave emotional storytelling quality. While maintaining this pose during studio shooting was quite tiring, the resulting photos truly captured that slightly reliant, expectant gaze.

In terms of character setting, Yazawa Nico is an idol who shines brilliantly on stage while harboring a young girl's little temper in private. This White Day Awakening styling actually hides many of her subtle psychological shifts. As a cosplayer, we need to give tangible form to the gentleness beneath that tsundere exterior. Throughout the shoot, I continuously pondered how she would express her gratitude or affection if truly facing someone she loves.

In the final photo set, I hope the visual language conveys all these nuances. Without exaggeration, this set reached a very satisfying level for me in both styling accuracy and emotional expression. Beyond hair color, hairstyle, and costume details, even the tightness of the ribbons and the fluffiness of the skirt hem were repeatedly adjusted. The shoot took an entire day, and though exhausting, seeing these final visuals match my vision makes everything worthwhile. That's all for today's Casual cosplay studio story share!
