[Nahida Cosplay] Natural Agility and Textural Presentation of Genshin Impact's Dendro Archon

Before shooting this photoshoot set for Nahida at Fantasy Vision Studio in Jilin City, I had high standards for my hair, makeup, and costume details. The main color palette of this look consists of white, green, and gold, with a strong botanical style. To fit the temperament of such an agile character, I spent a lot of time comparing wig colors and hair direction during preparation, especially the white main tone fading into a light green gradient at the tips, hoping it would look well-layered, soft, and natural under lighting.

The tailoring of the outfit is also very refined—the sleeveless off-the-shoulder cut combined with a high neck visually elongates lower body proportions nicely. Deep green vine patterns across the chest and skirt hem, paired with bronze trim, give the garment a touch of vintage and mysterious texture over an understated base. The hollow metal headpiece with a green gem acts as a crowning touch, which needs to fit right on top of the crown during wear to maintain balance from every angle during shooting. The independent green-and-white arm cuffs also feature plenty of detail; four-leaf clover decorations and metallic accents with tassels enrich the overall visual elements.

For hair and makeup, I focused on enhancing the colors around the eyes. Since the character's pupils are very distinct, I chose eyeshadow that created a cool-warm contrast with orange lip makeup, so my facial features wouldn't look flat even when shooting in pure white or pure cyan environments. During shooting, photographer Fumeng provided great guidance. Facing the indoor venue with a white plush carpet, we tried several poses to cover wide-angle, medium-range, and close-up needs. Sitting poses looked quiet and obedient, while kneeling and single-hand floor-propping actions better showcased the waistline and leg contours, while also capturing the matching details of sock covers and strap shoes.

Dynamic candid capture was another key focus of this shoot. The gradient ribbons behind my back created a wonderful sense of airflow and lightness when turning around or waving. The looking-back photo was captured right at the moment after multiple attempts at swinging the ribbons at different angles. Thorough advance preparation made this studio shoot highly efficient. I've always loved the atmosphere of the Jilin Anime Convention, and this set completed in the studio should also carry strong visual appeal as a convention walkaround outfit in future offline events.

When cosplaying characters tied to natural elements, physical relaxation and a natural flow of expressions are far more important than mere facial features. There's no need to deliberately chase exquisite perfection from beauty filters during shooting; instead, stay as close as possible to the character's inherent lightness and agility. This outfit has many inner layers and exterior details, so under multi-light studio environments, it effectively highlights the fabric's matte finish and the reflections off metallic ornaments. Every time I look back at raw photos after a shoot, I feel that this quiet, unforced state away from the lens best recreates the true essence of this character.
