This time I tried a pajama look for Nahida. I've always loved the Dendro Archon's character design in Genshin Impact—full of wisdom yet childish. I chose this outfit primarily to showcase Nahida's relaxed and cozy home life in Sumeru. This beige-brown plush jacket is super soft, like wearing a cloud, and it's actually very warm in reality, perfectly fitting the "plush pajamas" theme.
First, let's talk about the wig and makeup styling. To fit the character as much as possible, I chose a silver-white wig with gradient tips styled into pigtails. Since this is a casual loungewear anime-style outfit, I didn't deliberately style it too neatly, keeping some frizz and volume to look like someone who just woke up from a nap, giving it an extra lazy vibe. The bangs were also carefully trimmed into textured bangs that frame the face while subtly showing the eyebrows. The height and volume of the two pigtails were repeatedly adjusted to ensure they don't block facial features from the front while showing off Nahida's signature hair color. For headwear, I chose a cloud-patterned ornament with a black base, gold trim, and embedded green gems—small, delicate, and not overly heavy.
For makeup, I specifically mimicked Nahida's unique green eyes by wearing light green contact lenses to enhance the elf-like feel. The eye makeup used a pinkish blend focused on the outer corners and aegyo sal, making the expression look gentle and harmless. To get closer to the elf texture, I attached pointed elf ears. Although they slipped off easily during shooting and slightly affected my range of movement, the final visual effect significantly increased character recognition. The lipstick chosen was a natural rose-bean paste shade, paired with fair foundation to give a healthy complexion.
Next is the core of this outfit—the plush jacket. I'm very satisfied with the texture of this outfit; the fluffy fabric adds approachable warmth, and the dark bowtie peeking from the collar adds a touch of delicacy. Although it doesn't recreate Nahida's classic outfit, this casual loungewear feel makes the character feel more alive. The collar design is interesting—it stands slightly to wrap around the neck, giving a warm and safe feel.
The shoot took place indoors against a pink wall. Soft natural light highlighted the texture of the hair strands and plush jacket, and the pink background matched the character's softness and playful innocence. Wanting to create a casual home selfie feel, I chose a very relaxed posture and shot close-up using a phone front camera. This created a tighter composition and captured facial details clearly. This style suits my understanding of Nahida—a character who needs to relax and feel the beauty of the world.
When bringing a character to life, I believe cosplay is not just about physical similarity, but also about conveying expression and atmosphere. As the Dendro Archon, Nahida's eyes should feel intelligent and compassionate. I intentionally slowed down my pace in front of the camera without overly posed stances, aiming to capture the tranquility of this character thinking alone or preparing to rest during a peaceful night in Sumeru. As a cosplayer who frequently shoots outdoors, the prep work for this indoor Cosplay photography wasn't complex, but the result was a pleasant surprise.
Finally, this casual attire style for Genshin Impact characters is perfect for conventions or private indoor shoots. No complex sets, heavy armor, or weapons needed—just a comfortable plush pajama set and fitting hair and makeup can nicely present the character's state in a specific context. I hope this set conveys Nahida's unique cuteness and gentleness. For friends wanting to try casual Genshin Impact cosplays, this look is a great entry choice: easy, relaxed, and sure to yield warm, lovely photos.
