[Kirara Cosplay] miYoSummer Guangzhou Exclusive: Nekomata Courier on Duty

miYoSummer wrapped up successfully in Guangzhou. This time, I finally cosplayed Kirara's nekomata form. My absolute favorite part of the whole costume was those paw shoes; paired with the fluffy tails, I instantly felt like an agile nekomata courier.

Regarding the outfit, the blue and white color-blocked fabric texture was fantastic, while the yellow rope knot and bells at the waist served as great decorative accents. But what took the most effort was actually the prop. I spent a long time fine-tuning the accuracy of that cardboard box—holding it securely without appearing bulky in front of the lens required repeatedly adjusting balance and leverage points.

Regarding makeup, green contact lenses were crucial to immediately capture the character's spirit. I chose a translucent base makeup, focusing heavily on blush to emulate Kirara's cheerful, ready-for-action vibe. The fluffy animal ears and tails required constant grooming on site; because the convention halls were crowded and easily ruffled them, I squeezed in time to smooth down the fur between shoots.

Regarding poses, to showcase the character's agility, I tried standing, crouching, standing on one foot, and sitting. For example, the close-up shot sitting on the ground highlights the plush paw pads on the soles of my shoes alongside a cat paw gesture, which often serves as a memorable visual highlight in convention photos. Many candid, dynamic moments were captured thanks to the photographer's precise shutter timing.

Why choose this character? As a courier in Genshin Impact, Kirara's optimistic personality and unique nekomata identity gave me plenty of inspiration. Interacting with other players at the convention in this outfit—when people shouted \"Kirara, you're here to deliver a package!\" or asked me to hand them a box—that intimate, fourth-wall-breaking connection created an atmosphere unique to anime conventions.

Regarding the shooting weather, Guangzhou's weather remained humid and hot, making wearing a costume with plush prop elements a real test of endurance. Even with indoor air conditioning, walking and shooting continuously still caused sweating. But the moment seeing great natural light and beautiful final shots made all the sweat entirely worth it.

Regarding the miYoSummer event itself, the venue layout was very interesting, leaving ample space for cosplayers to take photos. As an outdoor event, while natural light can be weather-dependent, it gave the photos a bright, translucent texture. In this set of convention photos, I personally preferred those dynamic, naturally vivid moments over stiff, static poses.

Checking props: besides the cardboard box, tails, and paw shoes, there were also those delicate hair accessories and headpieces. Though small, every piece was indispensable. Cosplaying is always a dual test of patience and perseverance, but standing before the camera and assuming the character's posture felt like briefly stepping into another world—a truly wonderful experience.

Regarding hair and styling, the wig trimming and dyeing were kept as close to the character's original color scheme as possible, harmonizing well with the star-shaped hair clips on the ears. I hand-adjusted the thickness of the giant yellow knot on the chest myself—if too thin, it would look cheap and plastic, but if too thick, it wouldn't be accurate. I was very pleased with the final curve.

In closing, I hope these convention photos bring everyone a good mood. Character restoration isn't just about matching appearance, but capturing that infectious energy in the moment. Although this outdoor photography in Guangzhou was busy and hectic, the final results made it feel completely worthwhile.
