Browsing through these photos in my camera roll after getting home, reminiscing about the Azur Lane 2025 Port Summer Cool Festival that just concluded, I'm definitely going through a bit of event withdrawal. The bustling crowds and the venue's warmth mixed with everyone's overwhelming passion truly made it unforgettable. If this kind of Summer Cool Festival could happen ten times a year, I'd probably wake up smiling in my sleep. Looking back on this event, nothing beat bringing Noshiro's D1 rigging look to life on-site and sharing a thrilling offline gathering with fellow fans.
This time, I cosplayed Noshiro's armament look—the outfit featured an off-the-shoulder design blending black fabric with red-and-black plaid patchwork, accented by a black choker and metallic neck rings, delivering a cool, sharp aesthetic without losing summer nonchalance. I especially loved the sheer texture of the Black tights outfit; the subtly translucent hosiery paired with black flats elongated leg lines and made navigating the convention floor delightfully effortless. The pair of red-and-white gradient horn accessories atop my head served as the soul of the character, instantly drawing everyone's eyes the moment they were put on. To maintain high fidelity, I refined the wig and makeup: purple eye makeup echoed the character's enigmatic lore, while vibrant red lips kept my expression sharp and energetic before the lens.
Beyond my own character, the most rewarding part of this convention was snapping close-up commemorative photos with my favorite cosplayers. Teacher Azhao's performance has always carried commanding presence, so successfully taking photos together was truly exhilarating—long live Zhao! Teacher Dan Dan Danting's styling details were also exceptionally exquisite, looking breathtaking in solo shots. I also met a cosplayer doing Sakawa; portraying characters from the same port faction instantly gave our group photos a wonderful sense of sisterly camaraderie.
However, this convention trip came with one tiny regret: for some reason, the commemorative selfie snapshots always turned out slightly blurry! It had been so long since I met so many lovely creators and passionate Commanders offline that my hands were practically trembling with excitement while focusing the camera. With a slight slip of the thumb on the shutter button, the shots ended up out of focus. While a tiny bit frustrating, these blurry photos brimming with joy and flustered excitement ended up serving as the most authentic 'memory filter' for this offline meet.
Aside from socializing, the official booth decor was crafted with tremendous care. Blue ambient lighting paired with marine and mechanical backdrops created a fantastic visual clash against my black-and-red plaid costume, lending rich moodiness to every casual snapshot. I especially loved the check-in corner featuring the neon signage, where the light-toned backdrop made dark-toned costumes stand out vividly.
Cosplay truly requires immense time and effort to prepare costumes and props, but when you put on this meticulously crafted gear, stand before the booths, and see the lenses, flashing lights, and appreciative nods from players online and offline, every ounce of hard work becomes worthwhile. The festival brought not only refreshing styling, but also thrilling encounters that set the heart racing. I hope to have more opportunities to appear in fascinating offline events as this character in the future.
