[Nico cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Cunning Hares' Pink Storm

I've finally organized this full photo set of Nico cosplay from Zenless Zone Zero! I handled everything myself from makeup and styling to the shoot, taking full advantage of the weekend to combine outdoor and studio photography into one complete set. Because her original art style is packed with urban street vibes and cyberpunk trends, I aimed for this cosplay to convey both sharpness and a touch of playfulness in the overall look.

Starting with the most striking visual element, the green cosplay contact lenses worn this time are from @SHININGCITY, truly serving as the soul of the entire face. I usually wear green lenses quite often, but the pattern on this pair matches the original design exceptionally well. Its translucency is just right, making the iris details look deep yet natural. These bright eyes set against the long pink wig create an instant visual impact on camera. The quote in the post, 'Do not go gentle into that good night,' somehow matched the aloofness in my gaze this time; even though the overall color tone of the photos is bright and soft, I deliberately kept some coolness in the expression.

To complement this pink-toned pink wig, I was just as meticulous with the hairstyle. The wig is a true coral pink with great volume and luster. However, because the hair volume is quite substantial and the sectioning of the bangs and sides is rather specific, I spent a long time trimming and thinning it before wearing it, ensuring the head shape looks three-dimensional without appearing bulky. The pair of black trapezoidal hair clips with rhinestone inlays on top serves as the finishing touch. The yellow and green gem decorations have a noticeable plastic patchwork feel, but against the pink hair, they create an excellent contrasting color effect that accurately recreates the character's accessory details.

Looking at the outfit, the black high-neck collar and white cuff splicing design are easily the most recognizable elements of this costume. The black collar not only elongates the neck line but also nicely contours the jawline, creating a staggered layer with the camisole straps underneath. When shooting the first photo, I angled my shoulders slightly to reveal the collarbone and neck contours; paired with the translucent gradient nail art on my hands, the overall color composition of the frame became very rich. In choosing the angle for the second photo, I intentionally leaned close to the lens, using slight wide-angle perspective distortion to fully amplify the visual tension of the facial features, especially the eyes. The lower lashes and dense upper lashes are styled somewhat dramatically; this bold touch, slightly beyond everyday makeup, is perfect for capturing an anime-avatar aesthetic.

Whenever shooting 2D characters, the biggest challenge isn't just the fidelity of makeup and costumes, but how a real person can fit into that other-dimensional silhouette. For lighting, I experimented a bit: instead of using harsh lights that cast sharp shadows, I used softer diffuse reflections. This gave the skin a matte ceramic-like texture, creating a tactile contrast with the glossy lip glaze. During post-processing, I kept things restrained without heavy skin smoothing, preserving skin textures while focusing on adjusting the flow of hair strands and the shine of the hair clips.

Because I truly appreciate the art style of Zenless Zone Zero's universe, I reviewed plenty of concept art and official materials before doing this cosplay, trying my best to portray that contrast of 'looking like an idol while handling hardcore jobs.' As a cosplayer, I believe roleplay and character portrayal aren't just surface-level mimicry, but an immersive experience of briefly detaching from reality. Although the entire set was shot in a studio with a relatively simple backdrop, adjusting expressions and postures successfully carried the commanding aura of the Cunning Hares' boss.
