Nicole, the chronicler of Teyvat. The theme of this photoshoot closely centers around 'burying oneself in vast tomes, silently observing the ebb and flow of Teyvat.' To match her identity as a chronicler, I put a lot of thought into the props and set: vintage wooden cabinet doors, open aged book pages, and tea sets all became key visual elements in these frames.
First, regarding the outfit, the blue-and-white tailored design is visually striking. The geometric lines across the chest and the deep blue patchwork bring an intellectual layer without being overly complex. Since the character belongs to the elf race, the pointed Elf ears prop was treated with delicate skin-tone blending to ensure it didn't look unnatural. Paired with a pale blonde long wig and a white beret, the overall aura settled naturally into place.
As for the makeup, I opted for natural warm-toned eyeshadow paired with fine eyeliner to highlight a clear gaze, avoiding overly dramatic heavy makeup, as this chronicler feels quiet and introspective to me rather than ostentatious. The detached sleeves on the arms added a carefree, flowing vibe. When raising a hand to turn a book page, the exposed knuckles and wrists gave off a crisp neatness that I really adore.
In terms of poses, beyond static shots of sitting, reading, and sipping coffee, I also tried dynamic standing shots holding a wooden suitcase. That vintage suitcase with leather buckles was a prop I went out of my way to find; it strongly reinforces the concept of journeying. Even though the character is a chronicler, Teyvat is vast, bound to involve endless travel and new sights. In the tea-drinking photos, I deliberately angled my legs to showcase the white leg rings and strap decorations; after all, details are integral to the outfit, and small accessories like these make the character more vivid and multi-dimensional.
During this shoot, I also felt the photographer's ingenuity. The lighting fell in a way that created subtle light-and-dark contrasts, giving the folds of the blue fabric a soft luster while bringing out the fine texture of the wooden furniture. Under different lighting conditions, I strove to convey that focused yet serene gaze when this chronicler observes the world. From costume preparation to posing on set, every step was closely anchored to 'recording' and 'tranquility.' Whether cradling that vintage book to read or holding a coffee cup while gazing beyond the frame, I tried to immerse myself in the mindset of an observer of worldly affairs. The temperature on the day of the shoot wasn't particularly low, but the costume had quite a few layered linings to maintain its shape, requiring some endurance during shooting. However, seeing the steady, scholarly ambiance in the final images made all the hard work worthwhile. Creating this set for the Teyvat chronicler in such a warm, wood-toned environment was a deeply immersive experience; sealing the character's unique temperament page by page through light and shadow is truly fitting for this story's chronicler.
