[Tokai Teio cosplay] Stage Vitality of Umamusume: Pretty Derby

The moment the stage lights focused, the emotions reached their peak. This time, at the China Cosplay Super Cup, our team and I completed a Tokai Teio cosplay Stage performance from Umamusume: Pretty Derby. Having taken on the competition assignment, our rehearsal schedule prior to the event was extremely tight, so expectations for this stage were high, hoping to showcase the character's most authentic self.

To recreate this outfit faithfully, considerable effort went into costume details. The white pleated skirt paired with the blue vest, the pink bow fluttering nicely while moving, and the blue patterns on the cuffs were all meticulously reproduced. The horse ears on the headpiece and the white mini cap on top took some time to secure properly to ensure stability during active running and jumping on stage. The boots feature soft soles with great contouring that nicely flatter leg lines, highlighting dynamic silhouettes from the side under the stage lighting.

Standing at the center of the stage as the familiar melody began to play, full focus was required for every move. The first photo captures the opening pose—pointing one hand toward the camera with sparkling eyes; the second is a full-body standing pose demanding confidence and upright posture; the third shows saluting and arm-waving with an expression full of drive. Many subtle movements and facial expressions were honed through repeated practice before the mirror. Because Tokai Teio is inherently lively and proactive, there could be no slack on stage, keeping a bright smile throughout.

The most rewarding part of this experience was my fellow teammates doing stage blocking and dancing together. Group choreography rigorously tests chemistry—everyone's positioning, arm height, and rhythm had to align perfectly. Though we came from different places, united by a shared goal, we corrected each other's moves during rehearsals and powered through physical exhaustion. Performing on such a professional stage with full lighting and stagecraft hardware at the China Cosplay Super Cup was a rare and valuable opportunity. As the spotlights swept across, the stage energy instantly peaked, and the teamwork truly let me appreciate the charm of a Stage performance.

The lighting at the competition was rich and full, with the red LED backdrop and light beams adding immense atmosphere to the act. The panoramic stage view in photo 4 is breathtaking; seeing everyone's synchronized movements made all the rigorous preparation feel thoroughly rewarded. This cosplay journey deepened my understanding of Stage performance. Stepping off the stage, my tensed nerves finally relaxed, leaving only anticipation for the next performance.
