This time, the location for this Chongqing photography session was chosen at this waterfall. At that time, the water vapor on the ground was very heavy, and the air was filled with that moist scent of grass and trees. After arriving, seeing those massive grayish-black rocks and the rushing water currents gave me an incredibly steady feeling, and I instantly knew this would be exactly the cold yet powerful atmosphere I wanted. The moment I changed into the look and stood on the rock, a strong gust of wind happened to blow over. The silver-white wig and the white cloth strips on the sleeves were flying all over the place. Although it occasionally covered my face and affected my vision, it also happened to break the stiffness of some static posing, creating a dynamically splashed sense of movement.

This Ning Hongye cosplay look actually has a tremendous amount of details; it is completely far more than just a simple white dress. The red maple leaf embroidery on the chest is densely woven with bright red silk thread, looking more three-dimensional in person than under the lens. The white fabric also has a certain thickness and texture, rather than being a limply soft material. The metal belt at the waist is extremely rigid with rivets and pendants; wearing it for a long time was indeed a bit painful, but to restore the character's cold, sharp, and noble aura, sometimes one just has to rely on this kind of physical sense of constraint to help oneself quickly enter the state. The lace sleeve covers and long gloves on my hands have an excellent fit, especially in that action of lifting my hand to adjust the collar in the photos; the sleeve covers don't slide down with it.

The white lace-trimmed stockings paired on the lower body were actually very prone to suffering in this waterfall environment full of sharp-edged rocks. For a great photoshoot outcome, I had to be exceptionally careful when moving between the rocks, dreading that they would be snagged and run by the sharp rock corners. Although it was just a brief shoot, protecting the completeness of the entire costume is also the baseline for an official photoshoot to go viral. When putting on that red and white blindfold in the frame, I felt my temperament instantly pull together, and my entire expression became a bit mysterious, even carrying a touch of merciless sharpness. This is one of my favorite visual elements.

During the shoot, I tried both standing and sitting states. When sitting, I lightly rested my hand on the collar, cooperating with crossed legs to capture that quiet, lazy yet guarded feeling. After standing up, I raised my arms, pulling the ribbons in my hands, allowing the fabric to stretch out lines within the water mist. My overall movement and the rushing water curtain cascading down behind formed an exceptionally wonderful echo. Because of the flying spray kicked up by the waterfall, the rock surfaces close to the waterfall were wet and slippery. When moving around, I had to pay constant attention to my footing, and the photographer was also beside me reminding me to stay safe. Although the process was a lot more exhausting compared to a studio shoot, that texture of natural light pouring onto the face through the sky-filling water mist is truly something no artificial lighting can simulate.

Chongqing's landscape indeed carries a strong martial arts (Jianghu) aura, which perfectly fits the environment of NARAKA: BLADEPOINT's Wuxia fantasy background. During post-processing, I did not excessively alter the original natural light and shadow, but only unified the color baseline, preserving the white highlights of the water flow and darkening the black tones of the rocks. This contrast can maximize the display of the pure white fabric and the luster of the metallic accessories on the figure. From early preparation to field shooting and then to final photo delivery, every single step deepened my understanding of this character. Whenever I stand in such realistic natural landscapes, wearing a meticulously restored costume, I feel that all the painstaking effort spent on forging details gets fully rewarded. This is also the core driving force for me as a cosplayer to continuously love this hobby through this Wuxia style cosplay project.
