This shoot primarily centered around the artistic combination of a vintage Maid outfit and Cat anthropomorphism.
The selected attire features a black, cream, and white palette, with delicate white lace edging along the collar and cuffs. The black dress paired with a beige lace apron has a hemline falling just right to reveal most of the over-the-knee White stockings, coordinated with black chunky-heeled platform leather shoes to make the overall body proportions look exceptionally elongated.
The shooting location was a dimly lit, atmospheric venue featuring lattice windows and a deep red leather sofa, perfect for Vintage photography. To complement this mood, we prepared multiple sets of props, including red wine bottles, glassware, deep purple fruits, stacks of vintage books, and black tea cups.
During the session, I experimented with several poses to accentuate lines: sitting on a high stool holding up fruit with both hands looked docile and sweet; standing beside the table lifting one leg conveyed slender height; sitting on the floor extending my legs forward directly showcased the White stockings and leg contours; while crossing my legs on the sofa holding a teacup projected pure elegance.
Camera angles underwent multiple adjustments to bring out a youthful, sweet charm in the facial features while ensuring smooth, fluid leg lines. In post-processing, Xiao Chai meticulously polished the color grading, darkening the background to elevate the subject and softly rendering skin tones, imbuing the atmosphere with a vintage cinematic feel. Logistic assistant Caicaizi constantly adjusted the placement of props at my side to guarantee clean, crisp visual framing.
The entire process strove to strike a balance between the docility of a Maid outfit and the playful whimsy of Cat anthropomorphism, using the vintage backdrop to elevate a natural yet striking feminine aesthetic—making the whole shoot a thoroughly enriching experience.
