This Plana cosplay commission was mainly to document the real-world landing of the previously custom-made outfit and props. From the wearing experience to the recreation of outdoor scenes, the overall photoshoot process went much smoother than expected.
First, let's talk about the wearing experience of this custom cosplay outfit. The entire costume features a classic black-and-white color palette; the top consists of a black jacket paired with a white sailor collar, with the necktie portion securely fixed in place so there's no need to worry about it shifting while walking around. The tailored pattern based on ten design sheets really focuses on details, especially the finished edging along the cuffs and collar, preventing any loose or saggy feel when worn. The black long skirt on the lower half combined with black leggings visually elongates the leg proportions, which, paired with black platform shoes, holds up the overall silhouette nicely without needing overly complex poses during shooting.
For the wig and hair accessories, four wig bundles were prepared to tune the styling. The silver-white hair color presents a soft luster under natural light, with braid detailing on both sides and bangs that contour the face nicely without looking heavy. The halo hairpiece on top is crafted from lightweight materials, secured behind the head using a hair comb; it stayed remarkably stable during outdoor shooting or walking, freeing me from worries about it falling off. Adding the black gun prop from the four-part prop configuration, the white lettering on the gun body perfectly echoes the overall black-and-white outfit styling. Its weight in hand feels just right—not exhausting to hold for poses, while effectively enriching the elements in the frame.
The venue selected for this shoot was an outdoor bridge with white railings and an expansive sky in the distance as the backdrop. It happened to be close to sunset, where the angle of sunlight filtering through cloud layers was gorgeous, merging anime elements with real twilight lights and shadows when combined with the Itasha decals on the car. The black sports car parked nearby featured sleek lines, with character illustrations and stickers on the door creating rich visual depth through the lens. The first composition standing beside the car holding the gun offers a complete showcase, capturing wig, halo, costume, and props all within the frame.
There was a slight breeze during shooting, and when the wig fluttered in the wind, it created a naturally dynamic feeling instead. Outdoor shoots are heavily influenced by ambient lighting; the sunset transition happens quickly, requiring us to adjust positions to align with the light angles. Reflections from the car body bounced onto the outfit, causing subtle variations in the white trim texture depending on the angle—a touch of randomness that makes outdoor shoots so intriguing.
Aside from outdoor scenes, the set of mirror selfies taken inside McDonald's captured a casual, everyday state; under cool white indoor lights, the structure of the collar and skirt was clearly visible. Scenes infused with a touch of everyday life often bring out a character's casual atmosphere. That about wraps up these behind-the-scenes moments; the compatibility between outfit styling and props during actual use met all expectations.
