[Plana cosplay] Blue Archive: The Little Zombie Is Coming to Catch You

Portraying Plana's zombie girl design this time was quite a contrast to the characters I usually shoot. The wig featured a silver-white base with pink gradient tips, styled into twin buns atop the head with long flowing twintails cascading down both sides. To keep the hairstyle authentic to the design, a black headband was added across the forehead, accented on both sides with white bows bearing black heart motifs. Trimming and styling the wig took considerable time, particularly the bangs, which needed to frame the face naturally while maintaining an airy volume, allowing the gradient tips to show off their pink dimensional tones under the studio lights.

For makeup, considering the character concept is a 'Little Zombie', I spent a lot of effort on blush, sweeping generous pink blush across the cheeks paired with light-colored contact lenses, aiming to strike a balance between cute and subtly eerie. The black choker around the neck was the finishing touch, and combined with the floating pink halo prop overhead, the complete silhouette came to life. To emphasize the zombie girl traits, I also slightly deepened the eye contours to give my gaze a more dreamy, unfocused look.

The costume construction was quite intricate. The top is an off-the-shoulder black dress featuring a white bow on the chest and transparent shoulder straps to preserve the bare-shoulder aesthetic. The sleeves feature exaggerated white ruffles; during the shoot, I intentionally let them slip halfway down my arms to add a relaxed, layered texture. The lower half was styled with black fitted shorts and sheer Black stockings, a black garter band on the right leg, and black chunky high-heeled platforms with bow details on the toes. Moving in this outfit required careful steps, especially with the platforms and long sleeves, needing continuous posture adjustments. This off-the-shoulder, dropped-sleeve styling visually elongated the arm lines while breaking up the dominant black palette with a bold splash of white.

The shoot was held in a pure white cyclorama studio using seamless background paper, with balanced, even lighting to create a clean, luminous atmosphere. The photographer was wonderful at directing moods, and we experimented with different props and poses. Holding a yellow talisman inscribed with red motifs, I struck several catching poses to fit the 'Little Zombie is coming to catch you' theme. With the talisman in hand, the character's presence instantly became lively. Sitting on a white cylindrical pedestal with legs crossed showcased the stockings and shoe details beautifully; on the wooden armchair, I explored over-the-shoulder looks and profile poses, using the sweeping lines of the long twintails and ruffled sleeves to enrich the composition. The look-back pose actually required core engagement to keep the body lines fluid rather than stiff. To achieve a sense of extension in each shot, finger placement and chin angles had to be refined repeatedly.

Throughout the entire session, while climbing on and off the seats in platform heels and shorts was a bit tiring, seeing the finished results made everything totally worthwhile. There are so many fine details in this styling—from the wig gradient to the garment tailoring—all aimed at presenting the best possible look before the lens. The interplay between studio lighting and fabric textures worked exceptionally well, and the contrast of black attire against the stark white backdrop defined the subject's silhouette with absolute clarity.
