I finally got around to shooting Yixing's classic blue-and-white fur-collared coat look from Honor of Kings. My first impression upon receiving the wig was its striking vibrancy; this highly saturated sapphire blue texture looked fantastic in sunlight, forming an intense color contrast with the plush white fur collar. The fringe was trimmed into layered, wispy locks, which, along with blue subtle shimmer in the eye makeup, produced a translucent cool temperament in front of the lens that captured the character's essence.

While selecting props, I specifically chose items that matched this traditional style outfit seamlessly—a dark folding fan and a bundle of white flower branches I grabbed. Avoiding oversized or cluttering multicolored props ensured nothing stole the focus from the garment's primary black, white, and blue palette. The upper fur collar is exceptionally thick, and paired with several underlayers, shooting outdoors during spring or autumn tests a cosplayer's physical endurance. However, to maintain structural volume and crisp contours, these details had to be retained. Metal chains and the circular emblem on the costume carry noticeable weight, creating a faint metallic clinking sound with every step that enhanced immersion.

The shooting location was set in an impeccably preserved traditional heritage building. Photographer WiFi's framing was meticulous; red pillars and geometric lattice windows created a potent Chinese style styling backdrop under natural light. Walking through the corridor, I realized the mahogany railings, deep blue embroidery patterns, and reflections on misty gray stone pavers harmonized beautifully for stunning compositions. While taking shots holding the flower branch or leaning on wooden railings under direct overhead sunlight, I experimented with multiple turns to avoid harsh facial shadows. Photo 6, enhanced with a smoke effect, added immense atmospheric mystery, making it feel as though I were standing deep within a mist-shrouded passage.

My interpretation of this character centers on a seemingly gentle demeanor concealing absolute tactical control over every situation. Thus, during shooting, I deliberately restrained exaggerated expressions, relying primarily on eye focus, fan positioning, and neck-and-shoulder posture to project that cool, commanding presence. Avoiding overly complex poses, I let my body relax naturally—leaning against wooden pillars or looking down at flower branches—allowing the photographer to capture dynamic half-body and full-body snaps that felt far more alive. Though exhausted by the end, seeing how blue-and-white tones resonated within warm wood structures and stone backdrops proved every bit of prep worthwhile. Traditional style cosplay in historic architecture tests overall atmosphere control, and our seamless teamwork in Anime-style photography captured both garment craftsmanship and character soul.
