[Promeia Cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: Cool Aloofness and Sharpness Under Industrial Aesthetics

This photoshoot features Promeia from Zenless Zone Zero, and photographer @Chibingdebingyan captured the unique demeanor of this look flawlessly.

First, let's talk about the texture of this costume. The entire design adopts a color scheme of black, white, and silver. The semi-transparent black mesh material tests the inner base layers and tailoring significantly, while silver metallic clasps and layered straps at the neckline draw visual focus to the collar and chest lines. Wrapped around the arms are segmented sleeves split down the middle in black and white, while the hem features white armor-like paneling, giving a strong techwear impression. The most eye-catching element is definitely the pair of over-the-knee High-heeled leather boots: glossy black leather material paired with prominent white crescent-shaped emblems at the knees, and silver metallic buckles lined up all along the front of the shins. Wearing these boots requires a huge amount of stamina; keeping a stable center of gravity during shoot breaks is necessary, or it's easy to lose balance. However, their firm, reflective sheen genuinely lends an empowered energy to the entire styling.

Regarding venue selection, the location for this shoot was set in an industrial studio equipped with abundant blue and white neon light tubes and metallic framing. This Cyberpunk style atmosphere harmonizes extremely well with the urban aesthetic of New Eridu in Zenless Zone Zero. The yellow-and-black warning barricades, red-and-white road blocks, and directional guide lines painted on the ground construct a rich color contrast. Blue light sources cast cool-toned shadows over skin and clothing fabrics, leaving the overall visuals clean and endowed with a technological aesthetic.

In terms of presenting poses and posture, I tried different angles to showcase the costume's details. In the first image, that standing posture with a slightly arched back, forward lean, and hands held behind the back actually tests core strength significantly. This motion maximizes the elongation of body lines while making the black over-the-knee leather boots look even sleeker as the center of gravity shifts forward, providing a very grounded anchor at the base of the composition. The second shot, where one arm is raised and rested behind the head, is relatively more relaxed, highlighting the curves of the waist and hips to a greater degree. The third pose, leaning against a yellow guardrail with legs crossed, represents a way of utilizing existing props during Cosplay photography to assist physical expression, appearing more casual and effortless compared to a pure standing posture.

The post description mentioned being "number one melancholic." In the actual shoot, we didn't deliberately force expressions, relying instead on a cool gaze and a neutral facial state to convey this temperament. The core of this look rarely requires outward dramatic tension; holding back aligns much better with that slightly aloof and distant vibe. The photographer excelled at using the direction of ambient light sources, focusing light beams on the side of the neckline and face to give facial features a more three-dimensional contour. The shooting process went smoothly overall—because the outfit inherently possesses a distinct stylistic identity, simply tweaking weight distribution and eye contact focus achieved quite ideal results.

Throughout the photoshoot, beyond overcoming the joint restraints of over-the-knee boots, I had to regulate breathing rhythm while maintaining relaxed body posture. Especially with a jumpsuit paired with high heels underneath, a moment of inattention can make movements appear stiff. Fortunately, the overall feel of the final photos precisely captured the character's sharp and crisp state.
