Sitting on the deep-green leather sofa with goblets set upon a serving tray in hand, the cascading layers of my black-and-gold interwoven skirt drape gracefully down, while the white pantyhose look exceptionally soft beneath the bar's warm, dim lighting. Many people's first impression of her is that of cold, unfeeling machinery, but with today's styling, I wanted to showcase the warmth polished into her through the passage of long years. To faithfully recreate this outfit, I invested great effort into the details: the ruby brooch at the collar, the layered yellow bell sleeves, and the exquisite red-and-gold accessories at the waist—every single element strives to adhere closely to the original design. For hair, I selected long straight pale-blonde locks paired with a white-and-gold ruffled headdress, deliberately deepening the reddish blend around the eyes alongside blue contact lenses to capture an aura both haughty and subtly awkward.
In the lore, I am the puppet born from the Alain Workshop, the Seventh of the Fatui Harbingers—an exquisite mechanical shell concealing endlessly turning gears within. Facing the camera initially, I spent much time pondering her contradictory mindset: arrogant on the surface, yet harboring a deep-seated fear of parting underneath. Because she fears loss, she pushes emotions away. When shooting this set, I deliberately wove in some lighthearted, playful gestures, such as flashing a peace sign or holding a teacup with head gently bowed to catch its aroma. These actions might seem at odds with a cold mechanical frame, but it is precisely this dissonance that pieces together the emotional shift where she finally embraces warmth. The shoot was set in an atmospheric bar; the wooden counter and rows of bottles behind it, matched with the vintage green sofa, clashed delightfully with the Gothic fantasy dress to evoke a peculiar sense of everyday comfort—as if, in the midst of an endless journey, she could finally sit down for a cup of tea and chat with companions.
Bringing this cosplay to life truly felt like having a dialogue with her. Every time I put on the wig, adjusted the accessories, and met my own gaze in the mirror with those blue contacts, I thought to myself: a puppet may have no heart, yet it conceals a multitude of emotions. The ceaseless mechanical roar of the workshop forms her background, but teatime chatter and the company of comrades have become new turning gears in her life. She is no longer anyone's substitute; she bears her own name: Sandrone. During this shoot, I chose many seated poses to let leg lines extend naturally, where the White stockings lent a serene beauty under the interplay of light and shadow. I wanted these images to capture her state after finding herself—not as a cold weapon, but as a living, breathing presence imbued with warmth. Every press of the shutter is a renewed interpretation of her story.
