Today I'd like to share the experience of cosplaying Sunna during this KFC collaboration event. To restore this character, I put a lot of thought into the makeup and styling. The wig was chosen as light green twintails, and it was specially styled to highlight fluffiness. In terms of hair accessories, black little rabbit and game controller-shaped hairpins were used, along with pink and blue cross-line hair ornaments. The contact lenses were chosen as bright blue, the eye makeup emphasized the eye contour, and pinkish eyeshadow and blush were used to enhance complexion; the overall makeup emphasizes a cute and energetic feel. The sideburns of the wig were also trimmed and styled, sticking closely to the cheeks to better modify the face shape, which, combined with the hair puffs of the twintails, makes the overall head contour look rounder and cuter.
In terms of clothing, this set is based on a white short-sleeve shirt setting, with ruffled sleeve designs. To increase the layering, I matched it with pink-and-white striped sleeve covers and added a red tie with a star pattern. The black metal ring choker on the neck and the black straps on the waist are also part of the overall styling. Because the shooting had to be done in a relatively daily scene like a fast-food restaurant with complex lighting, the shooting angle was specially adjusted to make the most of the natural light outside the window and the diffuse reflection light inside to avoid overexposure and harsh shadows. The shooting day actually had certain challenges because the foot traffic in the fast-food restaurant was relatively high, and passersby occasionally walked past in the background. To ensure a clean frame, the photographer and I cooperated to use the table props as a foreground to block the cluttered background as much as possible, while using a large-aperture lens for depth of field control to firmly lock the visual focus on me. In addition, because there are many reflective materials in the store, such as glass windows and plastic tabletops, special attention was needed during fill lighting to avoid harsh reflection spots.
In terms of props, due to the KFC and Zenless Zone Zero collaboration event, the tabletop was covered with Angels of Delusion theme merchandise. There were pink-and-white collaborative packaging boxes printed with blue wings and English logos. I also took a collaborative beverage bottle as an interactive prop. The props on site were very rich, featuring display cards and coasters of various characters. During the shooting process, I tried different actions, such as resting my chin on my hands, holding the beverage bottle, making finger hearts, etc. Picture one tries to restore a cute feeling of looking at the lens, picture two holds the collaborative beverage bottle, picture three crosses hands rather quietly, and picture four tries to make a heart gesture. Although the scene is relatively daily, the pink atmosphere of the collaboration event is very suitable for Sunna's character temperament. The cardboard packaging and placement paper on the desktop are rich in color, which happen to serve as great color accents, making the picture look fuller. During the interaction, holding that small bottle, the finger placement position was adjusted a few times, hoping to show a natural yet slightly playful feel.
As an enthusiast who frequently cosplays, I think cosplaying in such daily scenes is quite interesting; the lighting is relatively plain, which instead highlights the character's styling and clothing details better. Wig maintenance and makeup retouching are also very important steps in shooting because shutter speed and lighting changes will affect the photo output effect. Plus, the environmental color of the fast-food restaurant leans toward warm tones; during post-processing color grading, I deliberately retained this warm sense of daily life and did not perform excessive cool-tone processing. The material of the clothing may appear relatively thin under strong light, so during shooting, it is also necessary to adjust the wrinkles of the clothes through posture to make the overall styling more three-dimensional. Overall, today's set of pictures has a relaxed atmosphere, expressing Sunna's cuteness quite well, and I hope everyone likes this daily-style Anime cosplay photography style.
