[Sunna cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: Refreshing Summer Poolside Styling

This school swimsuit look for Zenless Zone Zero's Sunna required considerable attention to detail regarding props, hair, and makeup. To capture the character's aura, I chose the classic deep navy one-piece swimsuit. The solid navy matte fabric holds exceptional texture in natural daylight without excessive glare, while cleanly sculpting the body's natural lines. For accessories, I paired it with white over-the-knee stockings and pink leg straps; these garter-style accents broke up the somewhat monotonous school-uniform feel of standard swimwear, adding a layer of mature dimension. The arm sleeves featured pink-and-white stripes that echoed the pink straps on my legs. Blue hairpieces on the crown and black cartoon clips along the bangs further enriched the styling. The pink backpack with small white wings served not only as a prop, but actually held my makeup touch-up supplies and sunscreen spray, offering a reassuring sense of practicality during the shoot. The wig was styled into wavy mint-green twin tails with trimmed bangs, matched with blue contact lenses and sheer, natural makeup that highlighted the crisp freshness of summer.

The shooting location was an outdoor swimming pool. The blazing sunlight that day was a double-edged sword: the bright light created sparkling, shimmering water reflections and gave the mint-green hair strands an ethereal translucence, but midday sun easily cast harsh shadows across the face, demanding continuous angle adjustments. To capture natural water interactions, I stood barefoot in the shallow end with water reaching just above my ankles. The pose in the second photo—lifting one leg—took numerous attempts. Moving against water resistance while balancing on one leg and timing the droplets falling from my toes without straining my facial expression was quite a feat, and everyone was thrilled when we finally nailed the splash capture. The swimsuit clung tighter when wet, so physical movements had to remain measured to accentuate graceful female curves without feeling forced.

Since this theme leaned toward a mature feminine aesthetic, I strove to balance the character's canonical traits with personal adult poise. Sunna possesses a distinct charm where the purity of a school swimsuit meets the relaxed confidence of a mature woman, creating a unique visual chemistry on camera. Through body language—such as relaxed arms and direct eye contact with the lens—I sought to convey both summer cool and subtle allure. During breaks, inflatable pandas and rubber ducks rested by the pool, while background palm trees and modern architecture blended into an intriguing scenic backdrop. Overall, swimsuit cosplay shoots demand a balance of stamina, facial control, and creative use of water surfaces, making every dip into the pool an exciting collaborative effort.
