This Nanally cosplay styling perfectly captures the unique aura of the First Boss of the Coluccis Family. To faithfully recreate the image of this boss in Neverness to Everness, a tremendous amount of thought was put into everything from preliminary preparation to final delivery. The rose-pink long straight hair on my head features high color saturation, looking exceptionally vibrant under outdoor natural light. I trimmed the straight bangs to frame the face shape, and after wearing the red contact lenses, my gaze instantly turned sharp.
Facial makeup underwent a lot of simplification, placing the primary focus on the eye makeup. Since the character wears thin metal round-frame glasses, overly heavy eye makeup would get its details swallowed by the lenses. I chose to emphasize distinct individual eyelashes, paired with a clean, translucent base makeup, allowing attention to naturally focus on the red pupils. The lips were painted with a pinkish tint, neutralizing the strong visual impact brought by the red hair. The head accessories are the soul of this styling; I deliberately paired black, white, and red plush animal ears with a black cat-shaped hair ornament featuring red round-frame glasses and nose patterns, adding a touch of playfulness. The red curved headband on top echoes the hair color, giving the overall head styling more three-dimensional depth.
Regarding the costume and accessories, the black coat paired with a white shirt and black tie creates a distinct sense of layering. The most satisfying detail is the black fingerless gloves on my hands, featuring a red heart pattern on the palm. When I raised my left hand wearing the red-heart glove toward the lens, it showcased the boss's cool badass vibe while revealing a unique, contrasting cuteness. The nails were also meticulously painted light pink, matching the overall color palette. A simple metal ring choker around the neck further reinforces the character's unbridled setting.
When shooting on location, I intentionally chose an urban-feeling high-rise rooftop setting; the glass railing and distant modern building curtain walls matched the atmosphere of Neverness to Everness exceptionally well. Throughout the shooting process, I constantly contemplated the psychological state of the First Boss of the Coluccis Family. She is not merely cold on the surface, but rather possesses a composed calm settled after experiencing numerous events. Therefore, when striking poses, I avoided overly exaggerated movements, instead slightly lifting my chin, staring straight into the lens, and raising one hand to display the pattern on the glove, thereby conveying a silent sense of oppression and confidence.
As a cosplayer who frequently goes out in costume, preparing a character with such intricate details every time is a process of re-understanding the character. The wig styling, makeup matching, and accessory placement—every single element required repeated adjustments. Shooting outdoors this time with ample lighting faithfully restored the hair and eye colors, and the overall outcome of the deliverables is quite satisfying. I feel that cosplay is not merely about putting on a character's clothes, but rather showing the character's soul through adornment. Nanally possesses complex traits, and within the world setting of Neverness to Everness, the title of First Boss of the Coluccis Family carries inherent weight. Through this photoshoot, I integrated my understanding of this boss into every gesture, striving to present her traits of combining oppressive presence with a captivating, dangerous aura.
