This photoshoot for Xiao Qiao's Green Snake skin was shot at Guihu Park in Chengdu. It was rare to encounter such a perfectly clear day without any rainy or cloudy disruptions, making the entire shooting experience incredibly pleasant.

The real-life scenery of Guihu Park shared a very high compatibility with this costume. The entire pond was filled with vibrant, well-arranged lotus leaves, which, paired with the ancient stone bridges and weeping willows, provided a natural backdrop for the overall imagery.

The aspect I'm most satisfied with about this costume is the long cyan-blue train crafted by Qiyu. When I previously chose this outfit, I fell in love with this flowing texture. Walking on the stone slab bridge, the train extended along with my body; combined with a slight turning movement, my posture naturally took on a supple, snake-like elegance.

In addition to the train, the thin white gauze on the shoulders was designed to increase transparency. Under the bright sunny daylight, the semi-transparent material effectively softened the natural light, making the transition between my skin tone and the costume's cyan color appear very natural. The white flower accessories on my head not only matched the character's own design language but also neutralized the coolness brought by the large area of cyan, adding a touch of playful cuteness.

During the shoot, because the weather cooperated beautifully, the output efficiency was extremely high. Clear frames were captured whether on the stone slab bridge, beside the pavilion railings, or at the exact moment I looked into the lens facing the full pond of lotuses. The cyan-green round fan held in my hand also played a significant auxiliary role in the composition.

I have actually always wanted to try this kind of flowing look in real gardens for an Ancient style photography session. Compared to plain studio shoots, an Hanfu outdoor photoshoot brings much more atmosphere and depth. The photographer, Mr. Huang, snapped photos incredibly fast, preserving many agile and dynamic moments beautifully.

Looking back at these finished photos, I particularly love the one where I stand by the stone bridge holding the round fan. The sunlight spills onto my shoulders, giving the white gauze a slightly glowing feel, and with the weeping willows behind swaying in the wind, the entire frame's layering is incredibly rich. In terms of overall makeup and styling, I maintained a clear base makeup and a soft drawing style for the eyes and eyebrows without excessive heavy colors, mainly to highlight the character's inherent agile yet slightly ethereal traits.

Honestly, shooting in a costume that requires carrying a long trailing train poses a significant test of physical stamina, especially when walking back and forth on the bridge surface while having to watch my steps. However, the final presented effect makes the entire physical investment totally worth it. Recreating character costumes with accuracy is not just about dressing up neatly, but more about hoping to showcase the high compatibility between the character and the costume within a suitable scene.

This time, I primarily selected several different states—standing, walking, and sitting—to express the look. The posture of standing with the fan leans static, showcasing the frontal details of the clothing and makeup texture beautifully; meanwhile, looking back and walking dynamically embody the sense of flow inherent to the entire outfit. Walking across the heavy bluestone bridge, the friction sound of the train brings a deep sense of immersion. The constantly shifting sunlight caused the short skirt hem and the white gauze to form different light and dark layers. Although the flower hair ornaments on my head are quite complex, because the colors are light and subtle, they don't feel overly distracting, but rather integrate very naturally with the loose strands of hair by my ears.
