[Caelus cosplay] Yosuga no Sora: Quiet Moments of a Pure White Girl

This set of photos was taken in a very cozy, everyday home environment. Before the shoot, I spent time planning the overall makeup, styling, and lighting setup. Today, I'm sharing several key details and reflections from this set.

First, regarding the wig: I chose long, straight silver-white hair. Light-colored wigs easily reflect harsh light under camera lenses, so to ensure hair strands looked airy and natural, I spent considerable time smoothing and detangling the fibers beforehand. The bows at the crown and sides serve as the soul of this White hair outfit. To prevent them from drooping, I used styling spray and structured inner materials to keep their shape intact. Paired with the semi-circular headpiece, it nicely frames the head shape from frontal angles, creating a full and refined silhouette.

Next, the costume styling: this white dress pattern is actually very intricate in tailoring. The collar ties allow adjustable fit, while the chest cutout is a key design detail—maintaining an overall innocent aesthetic while showing a hint of skin to break the monotony of pure white. Ruffled cuffs and lantern sleeves, combined with the fabric's soft drape, create beautiful dynamic lines when resting hands at the waist or lightly touching a sleeve. To fit the Casual home style atmosphere, I opted against overly complex footwear, naturally blending into the warm wood-toned kitchen backdrop in a relaxed, effortless state.

Turning to makeup details: for this set, I deliberately avoided heavy Anime cosplay eye makeup, choosing an enhanced no-makeup makeup look instead. Base makeup emphasized skin radiance, utilizing highlighters on the center face and bridge of the nose to sculpt 3D features. Pinkish-orange eyeshadow served as a sweeping base, with deepened tones on the lower lid and outer corners; paired with curled lashes and blue contact lenses, the eyes appeared deep and dewy. Blush was applied broadly under the eyes for a subtle natural flush, finished with a thin coat of glossy pink lip tint to keep lips plump and hydrated.

As for props and interaction, the white plush rabbit doll was my absolute anchor during the shoot. Facing the camera initially felt slightly stiff when figuring out hand placement, but cradling the rabbit against my chest or on my lap while adjusting its ears helped me ease into a relaxed state. The plush texture felt wonderful, while its button eyes and neck bow mirrored elements in my dress. During shooting, I experimented with eye-level and slight high-angle shots to seamlessly blend the character into the surrounding props and kitchen environment.

Photography and lighting are also worth mentioning. The scene was set in a kitchen with white tiled walls, accented by wooden cutting boards, clear glass jars, and touches of greenery. For lighting, clean high-key illumination filled the room, paired with a wide aperture lens for subtle background bokeh. This established the setting while softening messy household props, pulling the viewer's gaze onto the character. In post-processing, we avoided heavy filters, merely boosting soft highlights so skin tones and white attire appeared glowing, translucent, and pristine.

The indoor temperature was actually quite warm on shoot day, and wearing a long-sleeved ruffled dress meant sweating quite a bit. Constantly tweaking wig strands and dress folds ensured every detail looked perfect on camera. Looking at these final images, combining this White hair outfit with a Casual home style setting captured the pure, animated charm of Yosuga no Sora beautifully.
