The outdoor wind on that day at CICF was truly fierce. This set of Sora school uniform photos was captured right in that breeze; although my hair was blown a bit wild, it actually gave the frames an organic dynamic momentum. The uniform ensemble features an off-white long-sleeved shirt paired with a brown plaid pleated skirt, complete with a collar in the matching plaid, giving off a daily yet endearing, well-behaved schoolgirl vibe. The puff sleeves and cinched cuffs of the blouse look lovely, and with the shield-shaped crest emblem on the left chest, the canon details were faithfully kept.
Then came the wig. The long blonde Twintails are extraordinarily long; to capture that airy flutter, I used plenty of styling spray while prepping, but a sudden gust still tended to blow strands across my face. I deliberately styled a perky ahoge cowlick atop the head, while black mini claw clips secured the twin tails at the base so they wouldn't slip during movement across the convention grounds. The shots where I hold the pigtails happened because the wind was so intense that I simply gripped the tails to keep them from flying everywhere—yet the photographer said those candid captures turned out fantastic.
For makeup, to match Sora's cute aesthetic, the eye makeup was drawn slightly bolder with pale-toned cosmetic contacts, blush swept under the eyes, and a beauty mark added to the cheek. The base was matte, as running around outdoor conventions easily causes skin to shine, making thorough setting powder indispensable.
The lower half consists of the matching brown plaid pleated skirt, ending around mid-thigh. It was paired with sheer Black stockings and black platform Mary Janes. The stockings offer a gentle compression effect that makes the leg lines look straight, while the buckle and platform design of the Mary Janes not only fit the overall style, but also spared my soles from aching after walking the expo all day. The brown handheld schoolbag was tracked down specifically for this uniform; its vintage leather texture, golden clasps, and shield crest emblem echoed the embroidery on the uniform top.
For the shooting area, we picked a spot outside the glass curtain wall of the architecture bordered by purple flower beds. With ample natural light, the photographer used a wide aperture to melt the background into soft blur, making the character stand out sharply. CICF was rather muggy those few days, so wearing long sleeves felt warm, but that little effort was nothing compared to getting great Convention photos. Reviewing the raw proofs afterward, the platinum sheen of the wig under the sunlight looked truly gorgeous.
Many friends ask how to keep long wigs from tangling: always use dedicated wig detangling spray and gently comb upward from the ends without yanking, or it turns into a frizzy mess by the end of the day. This time we captured both standing and seated poses; sitting along the edge of the flower bed, the pairing of Black stockings with the brown plaid skirt created rich dimensional depth on camera. To keep the frames lively, I incorporated poses like patting my head, pointing to my cheek, and pulling both Twintails with my hands, ensuring the shots never felt stiff. I spent a long time selecting this set of Convention photos, loving the breezy, windswept charm in each one. That wraps up this little diary of Sora's School uniform cosplay at CICF—hope everyone enjoys it!
