[Kasugano Sora cosplay] That Touch of Pure White in Yosuga no Sora

On the first day of this Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo, I chose to meet everyone in this Kasugano Sora cosplay outfit. Bringing a classic 2D character into real-life lenses is always the biggest challenge for White hair cosplay. From wig sheen and the symmetry of twin black ribbon hair accessories to fabric crispness, every makeup and styling detail requires careful calculation. Special thanks to the photographer's collaboration—at the outdoor venue, we temporarily set up a black-and-pink foam pad and white plush mat on an open patch as our shooting base platform.

For this look, the white cropped top was custom-selected. It features a unique mandarin collar and side buttons, while subtle flare and cinching at the cuffs make arm movements look light and graceful. To keep the white shirt wrinkle-free while walking and posing, many hidden adjustments were made internally. A silver cross pendant and metallic buttons provided great visual accents against the white fabric.

For eye makeup, I chose high-saturation watermelon red eyeshadow for lower eye lining and smudging, paired with grey-brown contacts and long lashes, giving her gaze a sense of aloof detachment tempered with softness. Pursuing an ultimate cool composure, the base makeup was kept fair and matte—quite a test for outdoor wearability, especially under Guangzhou's humid and hot July weather.

Shooting moved faster than expected. In the first close-up photo, I held that small silver metal pendant; tilting my head slightly with my eyes focused on the prop effectively conveyed the character's delicate inner emotions. The photographer captured the moment perfectly, allowing light and shadow to fall gently across my cheek and hands.

Out of the entire set of Convention photos, my favorite is the side-lying snapshot in Photo 3. By then, many onlookers had gathered, requiring me to quickly enter a focused state. Lying on my side not only showcased the sleek silhouette of black tights across the frame, but the undulating pleats of the skirt and open white top created a sharp black-and-white visual contrast. The dark grey big-eared rabbit plush beside me added grounding weight to the open space.

Outdoor lighting was quite chaotic across the plaza with crowds around. However, using high-power fill lights and reflectors, the photographer effectively suppressed ambient noise and highlighted the textures of both black and white fabrics. The cool white color grading in post-processing is a favorite of mine—it preserved the genuine ACG expo atmosphere without over-smoothing skin, making photos look meticulously planned yet dynamically authentic. Despite sweating under a thick wig and layered outfit, seeing these captured moments made every preparation worth it. Beyond documenting a character, it was a memorable, fleeting encounter with fellow fans who love this culture, filled with the warmth of real-life energy.
